Painting from April 2013 (pretty much exactly a year ago)This is kind of a tentative change for Syphellium's design which I was testing out. I think I quite like it and I hope to develop it a little further and flesh it out a little more. I'm using this as a reference for her 'current' design now, though really nothing has changed except for scale placement.
I have been working on my headworld stuff. This was an early test for some ideas on it (concerning mountains, rocky hills and perpetual vermilion woods), some of it is still in the plans I have and some of it has been changed.

Tools: Talens Van Gogh watercolors, a little bit of white gel pen and pencil. A5 cold pressed paper.

Ahhhh it's so good to see you posting art again! Especially personal art ahhhh I love it! All the oranges compliment Syph's yellows and whites really really nicely!! Plus I love that crazy stylized volcano in the back there. I love all the swirly smoke coming off of it! I seriously want to go to this place ahaha. And omg Syph all of your luxurious FLUFF. Omg I want to roll in all of it. She's such a pretty lady my god. I really like the yellowy bits between her scales as well! Ahhhh such a good job!!

Thanks Eraili! I'm glad you like it! I do have a lot of fun with watercolor, felt tips and watercolors were my favorite things to make art with when I was really really small xD

Haha, I always hated brushes xD I never was able to do anything good with them at school, lol
But since a few weeks I am kinda trying them more and more and it really is fun xD Even though I could never draw something as awesome as you do

This is utterly stunning, I've just been staring at it for ages. The colours and the detail of that fur and those scales... just WOW. I looked at your WIP and I liked how you shaded the scales with blue and also how you outlined everything at the end to make it really pop out. Fab work!
