I've been meaning to do this tutorial for a while, yesterday I was in a tutorial making mood and I just did it. No fancy editing, props, effects or nothing... I figured that making the tutorial and teaching is more important than making it pretty. So thereeeee learn how to make super pretty frosting XD If you notice, the way I do it is really quick and easy. If you have any questions about this tutorial or tutorial requests let me know
Also, I'm still super self-concious about talking in English, so I pushed myself to do it. I can practice reading, listening and writing in English but I never get to talk in English... ever... so I could use the practice. I think that my pronounciation is a bit awkward sometimes and I have an accent, I hope you can understand me and thank you for your patience

Haha, great tutorial! The frosting looked really gross in the beginning, but by the end, it looked like OMG I wanna eat it. Your video makes me want to dig out my TLS that I got ages ago (If it's still any good!) and try my hand at making frosting.

I'm glad that you thought it looked delicious, and that it inspired you to try it! TLS keeps well in a cool weather, mine is three and a half years old... but if it's too hot it can get hard.

I can't remember how long I've had mine....And I never opened it, either, which makes me feel doubly bad. I guess it won't hurt to take it out and see if it's still any good, though.

Thank you for the video! I would like to see how to apply it to the cake. I have trouble keeping my frosting shiny though. I use kyoto liquid poly clay because we don't have TLC or anything like that here

I will make that video too! thanks for the request. Kyoto liquid poly clay? I don't know that brand, is it similar to Kato polymer clay?

nearisepic In reply to Talty [2013-04-26 02:33:47 +0000 UTC]
oops. Silly me. It is kato. Forsome reason I was thinking it was kyoto.
But yes it is kato, but it never stays shiny.

Wow, your tutorial is so informative! hehe the last time I tried to mix chocolate frosting it turned out to be a very light brown despite using a dark brown clay but now I think I know how to improve it for next time!
Your English is awesome considering it's not your native language! I'm studying Spanish and some grammar concepts get so confusing
Anyways, thanks so much for the tutorial, it was incredibly helpful!

Talty In reply to fractalbeauty25 [2013-04-25 17:05:56 +0000 UTC]
maybe you added too much TLS it happened to me too once
Thanks that's great to know and very encouraging! And I can imagine, Spanish is very complicated and bizarre, and I'm sure all the verb forms must be confusing if you're not used to them XD

fractalbeauty25 In reply to Talty [2013-04-25 21:44:59 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I think that too much TLS was the culprit, and now I also add in a big chunk of color instead of small pieces. It seems to mix better, I'm not sure why
Spanish is a little complicated, I just learned that there are 17 different conjugations for every verb *dies* oh well... I still think English is the most difficult to learn for non-native speakers. It just has so many exceptions and loopholes and strange rules that don't apply half the time. You've done an awesome job!

You didn't sound nervous so you did a great job! You'd honestly think that you spoke English every day or even lived in an English-speaking country and used it every day. Your vocabulary range is incredible too. I'll look forward to more

A very nice, sensible, well presented tutorial. I know where you are from but your accent sounded to me to be French. It was quite strange thinking Mexico but listening to French. Quite mind twisting. It is a delightful accent and one which should not cause you any shame. One of the previous people made the comment that your fluency was better than many English speakers. I tend to agree and have found that most people who speak it as a second language pay more attention to the language than do native speakers. My wife is from Belarus and she has a far better command of English than I do.

French? Interesting, of all languages... French is the language I find most difficult to learn and understand. I tried it for a bit and focused on German instead. So I found it a bit mind twisting too Paying more attention to the language sounds just about right, I tend to think a lot before saying each word, so your observation may be correct. Cheers to your wife
Thanks for your feedback and I'm glad that you liked the tutorial I also feel more comfortable about talking in English next time!

Your English was fine. c: You speak it really well - - perhaps even better than most of my native English speaking friends. I was able to understand and comprehend what you were saying, so no worries!
Very helpful tutorial, by the way! While I don't think I will dabble in polymer clay anytime soon, I have always wondered how you were able to make such perfect frosting using clay (of all things). I have been a fan of your work for a long while, so it was very interesting and insightful to watch. C: Thank you for showing us your trade secrets.

Thanks for the tutorial! That's a good way to make frosting, and you are right about people giving up. I certainly did at first.
(I didn't know that English wasn't your main language. [I don't know a lot of things. ]That was very good, considering.)
