It is, as long as the pin is metal plastic pins won't be fine.

I used to know someone who made food like this for doll houses and we went for little lessons with her when I was six! I found some of the stuff I made like oranges and cakes recently.
I am going to buy a Fimo soft clay kit so I can try this out soon! Yummy. I don't know whether you've already done this but I would really like to learn how to make these: [link]
I hope the address works!

I haven't tried them yet, they look so intimidating I have no idea how to do the shape! But they're definitely the cutest and prettiest waffles ever!

i am so envious right now....question! can we use cold porcelain to make these as well?

Talty In reply to k8onyx [2012-03-12 08:36:29 +0000 UTC]
I'm not familiar with cold porcelain, but this technique is so easy that I'm confident you can use it with pretty much any kind of clay

I seem to have an issue with my fingerprints in the charms and imperfections such as dust and lint (as you pointed at in the tutorial). how come I don't see this with any other charms?
π: 0 β©: 1
Talty In reply to splashysden [2012-03-03 05:31:48 +0000 UTC]
Well some people don't take photos close or sharp enough to notice the lint and fingerprints, so they're there but you can't see it because of the tricks they do with the camera or photoshop. Lint and dust are actually really common, but some people hide them. So don't feel bad about it.
However, there's easy ways to minimize them. Try working in a clean environment and keep your clay stored in a closed container so it doesn't catch dust. I noticed that when I wore blue I got blue lint, and I noticed that most of the lint comes from the clothes I'm wearing... so wear light colors or colors that match what you're working with xD Clean your hands often. This should help minimize the lint, but it may still be there, I like to sand my works after baking to make sure I remove all the remaining lint.

was the syrup lighter before glazing, or was it just me? Maybe it was the lighting..... but i like the color before glazing better

Talty In reply to brightkite [2011-12-27 06:25:21 +0000 UTC]
It was the lighting it looks lighter. When I make tutorials it's difficult to keep the lighting consistent.
