It was difficult to imagine herself anywhere but on the back of the big, golden stallion - who as intimidating as he was, had fallen into an easy partnership with his newfound handler. It only served to make Yoyo's heart drop more at the thought that this would be her last ride on Helo until next year.
Three weeks had passed since she'd arrived late to work, everything she owned packed into her run down Subaru. Her entire world had been turned upside down, all due to that simple little blue plus sign that had appeared on her pregnancy test. Her sleeze of a boyfriend had, of course, taken zero liability in the matter, leaving her to sort things out on her own. Matters at home had been no better, her very traditional parents leaving her with little choice but to leave the family household.
Leave where, had been her question. Hiyori was not known for her people skills, and along with her introversion, she'd not had many… okay, she'd not had any other options but one. She found herself driving to the only other place she dared call home. DREC. It was there where she'd finally broken down and cried, not out of self pity, but out of the overwhelming generosity she'd been given. Logan hadn't hesitated to offer her a place to stay, despite the rumors and personal difficulties it had caused him. Cal had decided to let her keep her job, working lighter tasks and returning to her training after the baby arrived. It meant she had to withdraw from her dream of entering HCL, something she and Sky had been training hard for, but it was a sacrifice she was willing to make. Cal had, at least, agreed to let her enter the AusWBA Trials, which Yoyo had been extremely grateful for.
So she sat upon Helo, waiting in the lineup, nervous, elated and saddened all at the same time. The sensation was isolating, blurring out her surroundings as she remained lost in her thoughts, in her positive mantras. She nearly jumped when she felt a hand rest against her knee and she looked down to be greeted by Sky's pink, contact tinted eyes. “Hey,” she shyly smiled, taking in a deep breathe to settle her nerves. “I'm almost up.”
“You're going to do great,” Sky reassured her. “You two have been killing it in our lessons. Make everyone know what they're gonna face at next year's HCL.”
“Don't worry, we will.”

I want your talent... I want your talent.. I want your talent. Teach me.
In all seriousness, this is brilliant. I love how you matched the expressions of the horse and the rider in the image. This is also the angle I struggle with the most so that makes me love this so much more! Wish you the best of luck

Thank you! It's definitely an awkward angle for sure. X3
