Yeah same, regular poke balls that cost a fraction of Ultras are good enough for legendaries and Mewtwo in my opinion (if we're talking original here, not caught the birds on the later games so can't comment about that).

lol I always use pokeballs or timerballs when catching a lengendary
I only ever had to use one timerball for Zecrom in my pokemon white, all others pokeball

Mewtwo: 1 quick ball, 5 ultra balls, 5 timer balls
Zygarde: 1 quick ball, 8 ultra balls, 7 Timer balls

this remins me of chuggaaconroys crystal lp it took him 30 ultra balls and then 1 pokeball to catch zapdos i know its not the same pokemon but it still fits

I was JUST having this problem last night! I'm playing FireRed and in Seafoam Island Cave, I find Articuno so I save and go to battle it. I literally ran out of Poke'balls while trying to catch it, twice! Now I hadn't stacked up of them having forgotten it was in there so I flew back and bought 50 Great Balls and 50 Ultra Balls and came all the way back, and guess what happened? I accidentally through 2 ordinary Poke'balls after weakening it... and the second one caught it!

This reminds me of the time that i had no ultra balls left, but like 300 pokeballs and when i only had 20 left i finally caught articuno
