Description
GDS ARCH3RGuardian Defence Systems
A heavy ground based mecha equipped with multiple long ranged, hard hitting weapons. With it's duel track design, it can go just about anywhere. When the need arises to defend strategic locations there is no better choice than the ARCH3R series of mecha from GDS.
Key roles:
Mobile Radar/Sensor station.
The heavily armoured ARCH3R carries long range sensor arrays as standard which it can use to detect and track threats, relaying this information to friendly units as needed.
Area defence from missiles.
The ARCH3R is capable of monitoring and neutralizing multiple simultaneous long and short range missile attacks. Launching its own guided intercepting missiles to detonate the incoming threat harmlessly mid flight.
Heavy Battle unit.
The ARCH3R carries a huge and varied compliment of warheads each housed within a guided missile that the ARCH3R can continue to control and maneuver up until detonation. The ARCH3R generally fires missiles in pairs selecting the most suitable payload to annihilate the threat. However, the ARCH3R is more than capable of launching from all missile tubes simultaneously, launching a storm of missiles into an area, causing mass destruction in the target zone.
The ARCH3R can receive targeting data from other mecha enabling to fire its long range missiles at targets outside of its sensor range. No line of sight to a target is needed as it can fire its long range missiles indirectly as required.
The ARCH3R excels at destroying targets at a distance with its long range weaponry but is more than capable of moving up alongside main battle mecha. A Heavy multilayer armoured shell houses all vital systems while locomotion is provided with reinforced tank tracks which allow the ARCH3R to transverse rough terrain while still providing a solid weapons platform to fire from on the move. Fitted as standard with a heavy dozer blade the ARCH3R can punch through terrain that would stop other tracked vehicles while also providing an extra layer of shielding from frontal assaults.
When fighting at short range the ARCH3R will also enable its dual heavy rotary cannons, unleashing bursts of bullets to cut down heavy infantry and light armour.

The tracks remind me of WarHammer 40k's Rhino.
Intentional?

Looks like it fits perfectly to destroy and pick-up the remains to recicle/get rid of them. Is a great piece of work. I'll fave it.
Hope to find/learn more about those free rendering programs. n.n ♥♥♥♥♥

wow, this is really nice...
I love the rendering style, did you make this in 3DSmax or Maya? What type of shaders did you use?

I used a program called Kerkythea to render the model that I originally designed in Sketchup. Both are amazingly free! Glad you like it.

Wow, cool! Somehow reminds me of a hybrid of Lego + Zoids. What happens when it runs out of ammo? XD

I the very unlikely even that it runs out of ammo before obliterating everything around it, I think you better stay out of the way of that dozer blade!

Spiffy, looks like it could do a lot of damage in a short period of time.

Ha ha, thanks - I went with purple just for a change as I've done quite a lot of dark (blue/black/grey) mecha recently. Version 2 will definitely come with a coffee maker and flat screen TV.
