Is it only ELPlaylist or all playlist views?
Have you changed a setting (especially Ctrl+P --> Columns UI --> Colours and fonts/Fonts tab)?

Try to reload the FCL file (can be found in ...\foobar2000\themes\DarkOne4Mod folder) through Ctrl+P --> Columns UI/Main tab --> FCL importing and exporting --> Import.

Hm... I remember this strange issue was happened for some users with the v4.0, too.

Please take a look at ...\foobar2000\components folder.
If there is a foo_uie_elplaylist.dll please delete it and restart foobar2000.

If you have other 3rd party components in this folder i strongly recommend to delete ALL files in this folder and install the foobar2000.exe again (to recreate the needed original components). You will not lose any personal settings by doing this

Btw. NEVER NEVER NEVER INSTALL 3RD PARTY COMPONENTS TO THIS FOLDER!
THEY BELONG TO THE %appdata%\foobar2000\user-components FOLDER ONLY!!!

tedgo  Thanks again for the great skin.  I do have a few questions though if possible:

1. Can I change the scaling size of the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen?  I would like it to be about 50% smaller in scale.
2. Can I change the peak meter graphic to be similar to the darkone4 classic?
3. Can the light grey border around the main artwork in the center be removed or changed to black?
4. Can the waveform seekbar be changed to be a similar look as the darkone4 classic?
5. In the library view, the tracks are listed by the full filename, is it possible to change that back to the track number and track name only?

Again thanks for the new skin, all the scaling work for the 4k monitors is great and much appreciated!

1. No. Not currently... but it's an idea for an update... maybe i add an option for scaling, but its difficult, because the used jscript panels depends on a fixed aspect ratio... and the up to 14 (18 in the next v1.1 - with some minor changes -  i'm working on) optional buttons needs this space...
But i understand the need of it, especially on 21:9 aspect ratios.

2. Yes. But you need to draw one... you need the VU Meter Editor to create own "styles".

3. Yes. Easiest way is to right-click on this border --> Splitter Settings --> Panel list and change the values for the JSCript panel to left: 0, top: 0, width: 100 and height: 100.
You could also "recolour" the border instead.
Go to Script/PerTrack tab and change the %do.btn.hcol% entry to a rgb colour of your needs (in R-G-B like 127-127-191).

4. You can load the old script to it.
Right-click on the old during playback --> Configure --> Frontend settings.
Copy the whole content with ctrl+a/ctrl+c and paste it to the new one.
BUT SAVE THE CURRENT BEFORE! Maybe you want to turn back...

EDIT: Or you simply switch to another frontend like GDI or Direct2D.

5. Change its "View" (right-click on "All music" and select another view or create one that fits your needs).

1. Just so i'm explaining properly this is the entire section I wish to make smaller if possible.  Even if it's a ratio for the entire panel instead of 1/3 maybe 1/5 or so (im ok if the buttons/text do not line up perfectly for now):

4. Worked perfectly with the script change.  (GDI worked also but the movement of the progress bar was not as smooth as DX)

5. I was in file view, not database (artist view) now listing as expected.

1) I know, but its currently not possible...
All panel sizes depends on the other.
You'd need to rearrange the whole config when you want to reduce the height of the control panel.
Maybe i will add a solution for the next update but its not on my "priority list"...

One more question:

How can I change the play list so that when I add an album it does not highlight all the tracks?   Highlighting the playing track and album is fine and looks great.   Just want to remove the non playing tracks from being highlighted.   Thanks again really loving the new version.

I don't know if this is possible, because this would need a second instance of Lyrics show panel... it is currently in another splitter.
And in previous version (Lyrics show 2 and the original) this almost caused a crash...

Of course.
In Preferences (Ctrl+P) --> Shell integration --> Sort incoming files by and in the playlist settings (right-mouse-click in the playlist --> Settings/Grouping tab --> Sort format)

Type in whatever you want your playlists be sorted
for example: [%album artist% - ][%date% - ][%album% - ][%discnumber% - ][%tracknumber% - ]%title%

Yes, that is the "Sort format", not the grouping.

But you need to activate " Apply core sort format.." in the preferences of the Album list panel, too (forgot to mention it, sorry... ).

I did that, but while it works when I do sort, for an artist, the grouping by default is done by name; if I go to another artist in the library part and come to this one after doing the sorting, all albums are once again sorted by name.

What I would like to achieve is having the artists sorted by name in the library, but their albums sorted by year rather by name as a subdivision, and that by default.

The setting you mentioned last, was it "Apply core settings to added items" ? Because I didn't find another one.

Yes, this was the setting i meant.

Now i'm confused... do you talk about the sorting in the Album list or the playlist?

If you meant the Album list you will have to edit (or change) its "view" (right-mouse-click on "All music" --> "View" or create/edit the views in Ctrl+P --> Media Library --> Album list panel/General tab).

If we are still talking about the playlist, you can edit the grouping scheme in Settings --> Grouping tab.
But you shouldn't need to edit the grouping when your sort format is correct...
In the playlist should the albums appear as wanted then.

In this picture, on the right side, the albums are ordered by artist name. However, for Chromatics, as there are various albums, those are ordered by album name rather than by year (which explains why Kill for Love comes before Night Drive).

What I would like to do is keep the artist order, but when there are multiple albums for a same artist, switch to an order by year.


For this, is is then the sorting than I have to modify ?

When I manually sort the playlist, it works, but after navigating in the library, the sorting always goes back to name rather than year; I just can't seem to change the sorting by default.

But I'll keep trying on my side .

No, this is not the answer, when you changed the sort format to something like %album artist% - %date% - %album%... from %path_sort%.
But you need to sort existing playlists once to take effect.
And: you need to change the sort format on the different places i already mentioned (Shell intergration, ELPlaylist settings, Album list panel and - if its needed - on the Filters page in preferences).

Is there any way to do this?

So far i have changed the percentage for the seekbar to 75% so now there is space for the text, but don't know how I would add that in.

If you still have the old v4.0, open it --> do a right-mouse-click on the area of the trackinfo --> Splitter Settings/PerSecond tab.
Copy the content of this tab to the clipboard.

Now open the new 4Mod and paste the copied content to the same tab.
You will need to activate "Enable per second" on the "Behaviour" tab.

$puts(ws.hp,100)
from 100 to your desired value.

2) You mean the colour of the scrolling text?
On the PerSecond tab (after you pasted the code to it) change the 255-255-255 in the last line to a R-G-B value of your needs.

Its not posible, sorry... this would enforce to rescript the whole panel, because the size of one element depends on the size of the others...
(You'd also have to rearrange all the descriptions above the digits)

Btw. i don't recommend the dot matrix display because it is very power consumpting and slow!
You can see it when using the mouse wheel for the volumeknob. It may stutter on slow systems...
Try it first for a few days before you use it permanently

for displaypanel - ms sans serif (default), how to change the font type ?
i am thinking to use DotMatrix font, for mimicking dot-matrix version but without using image-based so it should perform good


for Right-View 1-2-3 is there a way to make it automatically jump to played song, instead need to manually click "Now" ?
iirc version 3 automatically jump to played song right ?
well it not really a matter as clicking now take less than a sec anyway, but imho i think its better to make it automatically jump to played song
