In the Info & Prop. panels, I would like to setup additional metadata tags:
Codecs, Size, Length, Label, Credit, Added (Date), First Played (Date), 
how do I accomplish this?

Right-mouse-click on the panel --> Options

If this command is not available, use this workaround:
Right-click on the panel --> Splitter Settings --> select the Info or Prop. panel from the PanelList and hit "Configure"

Yes, of course.
But it depends on the setting of the Rating Panel (default: rates to the database, not the files metadata).
And the panel affects only the playing file at the moment (i'm working on it to rate a bunch of files at once).

You can set up the rating panel with its context menu.

This is great, I love this updated theme.
Quick question, My Artist and Album panels don't seem to be compiling.
e.g. Click on Genre => Alternative  I expect to see only the artists and albums that fall under that genre, but all artists and albums are still listed... where/how do I fix this?

About the half of this page there is "Behaviour --> Filter precedence"
Set it to "By field list above"

The update is not meant for v4, but for the initial build from the 4Mod only!

To add Equalizer:
Right mouse-click in a Reserve button --> Add Panel --> select the Equalizer.
Right mouse-click again --> Splitter Settings/Panel List tab --> select the Equalizer from the list and check "Forced layout" --> OK.

Oops... i forgot... the equalizer can't be added as a panel...
But you could add a button to open the equalizer window as described in chapter 3, Manual4Mod.pdf

Ok, when i understood correctly, then there is your music always in a subfolder of the Artist folder?
And the folder.jpg is always in this Artist folder directly?
Then try this:

sir tedgo, this is amazing & almost perfect

but i personally dont really like that wave-seekbar
is there a way to mod to classic (version 3) seek bar ?

if possible i want to mod this to :
the wave-seekbar replaced with peak-meter and below it classic(version3) seek bar

the wave-seekbar is placed to be switch-able with channel visualizer
this for sake people like using seekbar, but i dont, so for me its ok to remove it

if you have time, please help me guide with the script editing

The "Peakmeter" can't be moved to the space of the Waveform seekbar because it has a fixed background colour and needs a fixed aspect ratio (otherwise it would look very very very very very ugly...).
The background colour of the Waveform seekbar space is black (not grey like the "Peakmeter") and the panel it is put in has variable aspect ratio...

But the Channel spectrum panel could be moved there!
The "Peakmeter" (its an Analog VU Meter) would stay as is and the Waveform seekbar could be moved down to the space the Channel spectrum was.

However i will edit the images for Analog VU Meter with different background colours in the future.
Its needed when i update the old DarkOne v4.0 (because they need its typical dark-bluish background then).

The seekbar from DarkOne v3 - or a similar, more simple seekbar as seen in DarkOne4Mod in Config view 3 and 4 (buttons on the top left corner) - can be moved/implemented where you want it to.

But all this needs some "enhanced" scripting...
If you are fine with my idea to move the Channel spectrum instead the VU Meter to replace the Waveform seekbar let me know.
I could "edit" a personal FCL for you.
But be aware of: all this personal settings will get lost, when you update to a new version of DarkOne4Mod in the future...
(Maybe i could write a guide that would help you by "re-script" it on your own in this case, though

Are you considering adding the feature to add playback statistics to tags? As I understand it, they are saved to a database now, but I want them in the tags. :/

Statistics are always written to database (its by design of the "Playback statistics" component).
You can set up the rating panel to write ratings to tags (as described in the manual).

And you can set up foobar2000 to synchronize statistics with the file tags: Ctrl+P --> Advanced --> Tools --> Playback statistics --> enable "Automatically synchronize file tags with statistics".
Its disrecommended, though, because files will be updated during playback.

You can also update the file tags with statistics via context menu: Click on a track in the playlist --> Ctrl+P --> right-mouse-click on a track --> Playback statistics --> Write statistics to file tags.

Thanks for this tedgo  I installed this on the weekend.  The scaling is working on a UHD screen (minus the search as discussed below) although the column sizing on the playlist still behaves the same as the V4.

I'm having the same issue as DiarmuidODyna , after changing the columnsUI font size and changing the elplaylist row height, one of the coloums is still cutting text off.

How can I adjust the last column width is it possible or do we just wait for a fix as you mentioned below also?

Now i can see it... the screenshot is from v4.0, not from the Mod
In the v4.0 there will be an update for the truncated columns later this year or early 2017...

Unfortunately i found some small issues with resizing (Quicksearch toolbar is too small on high resolutions and in ELlaylist distances between Columns and the rating area doesn't resizes, too) in the new DarkOne4Mod, but i'm working on.
A new updated FCL file will be uploaded soon.

So you maybe should not make custom changes at the moment or they will get lost, when updating to the new build!
But i will offer the two scripts and an instruction file, how to update these two scripts only.

How do I increase the font size in the left panel? I try everything and it does not workin. In the right panel change the font size works. In the old version I went without problems.   your skin is the best. Thanks

Increasing font size here does increase it for the whole config (except buttons and display (fits font size automatically according to monitor resolution))

Followed your advice and installed the mod in a portable Foobar to compare with existing 4.0
Don't get me wrong, no intention to let down your excellent work, but I'm so used to the "old version" that, for the time being, I'm gonna stick to it.

Still, I need to ask your guidance on a single modification:  to darken the global background (like you did on the mod) from the present gray (19-30-38) to full black
I managed to change it on Columns UI but large spaces in between frames don't reflect the new definition, surely I'll have to change it also elsewhere but couldn't find where.

Its a matter of taste
The old v4.0 will of course still work and has its classic "bluish hi-fi-look".
I first wanted to modify this look with the new enhancements, too, but haven't found the time...

How to change colours is described in chapter 3 in the Manual_v4.0.pdf.
You will have to change the global colour variable in Panel Stack Splitter.

Regarding the 4.0 - Because I have done a few adaptations in the past don't want (at least for now) to redo them allover again on the new version (and I still love its hi-fi layout, but now darkened it a little).

The new modded one is more a tribute to resolutions from FullHD up to UHD because the v4.0 looks to small then.
The most other (little) enhancements will be implemented in v4.0, too. But this may last some time...

Small question - can I temporarily install the new mod version alongside the regular 4.0 and not break the whole thing?
The question is I made some extra modifications over your stock (assigned hidden buttons, etc) and need to try first if I can redo the same on the new one.
