Thank you so much for this tutorial! I've always been wondering if there was an easier method to make all those lines other than draw them traditionally (LMAO I KNOW SO CAVEMAN RIGHT), so this really helps!
Thank you again!

aha...great tutorial, though i agree with the person earlier who said "step 1: get photoshop"
i think i'll take these words of wisdom, and set about a bit of filter abuse in GIMP until i've found the equivalent
but thanks for this, it shows me the basic kind of thing i'm aiming for

Whyyy oh whyyy have I found this right AFTER I did all the speed lines I had so much problems with and gave up a week of my life to do them? D:
...
But, there's a real question - is there a GIMP version for those filters and stuff, or are you totally infamiliar with it? I'd be really happy if there was a way to convert it for GIMP users

You have no idea how useful this is. Seriously, I had been trying to draw them out by hand with the brush tool. Didn't go so well.

It's not "lazy"— It's simple! (Thumbs up.) This is a great tutorial. I don't know exactly when I'll use speed lines, and I don't have Photoshop CS, but I'm sure something can be arranged!
Thanks for posting it.

So, how many marraige proposals have you gotten so far?
Man this is just the best thing ever. That was so helpful, and easy to figure out. Now I can actually do these without having to suffer through drawing individual lines.
Thank you so much for your contribution to the world. 50 million awesome points to you.
