I was looking for a tutorial like this -- I got it into my head to try a doujinshi, couldn't talk myself out of it, and now I need new techniques!
This is great and your explanations and graphics are easy to understand for a CS novice. THANK YOU!

That is some sexy triple-L in the title. X3 For some reason it reminds me of the Gary Larson comic where three bulls at a party are conspiring to hit on three cows they've nicknamed Triple L, Lazy Q, and...uh...something.
...I have now wasted thirty seconds or so of your life. I'm diabolocal like that.

Damn it, found this way to late
I had to use some of this lines the other day in a book illustration and I had to do them one by one and it was a pain in the ass. :/
But it's not finished yet so I think I'll try my hand at this
Thank you very much! And don't mind the lazyness, that's why photoshop was created really.

I might. XD It all depends on how much time I give myself. I just sent a note to you about your character. She seems to have a lot of back history to her that I don't have time to read though. Your story seems interesting though. I got through most of ch. 1. Best of luck to ya!

Whoa, that is actually very helpful. xD Better than just drawing out every single line out manually, for sure.

Now this will really come in handy. I never thought of that method for creating speedlines, I always just used the line tool and drew lines of varried width to pull off that effect. This is much easier.
Thanks for posting it!

or you could just get your pencil and draw a quick curved line. scooch hand 2 cm left, make another. repeat until desired results. But I guess if one was a bit lazy, this would be just fine. Kudos!
