I tried to let them a bit "neutral" to let the lighting do the job in fact. But yeah maybe they lack some more color variations.

Oh no I just did that from scratch. First I mod the shapes in Max, then I add some details in Zbrush, I bake the normal map and ambiant occlusion in xNormals on a plane and I paint it in photoshop.

I suppose you can find some tutorial but any video game artist can do the same I guess.

Yup, i did a lot baking.. Thaught those were completely handpainted >_< They look wery natural.

Have you ever tried allegorithmic substance designer? Worth a try:>
