Description
The final shots. Not so different from the previous shots. I added a bad fire particles effect, an animated creature ( the Throne of Odin, with Odin's Crows Hugin and Munin ), animated floating Ice blocks and barrel, my own water shader, and the meshpaint on the ground.Took me at least 3 months, but I did the UDK version with 2 creatures ( the first one is my chicken of chaos, located in a secret place under the scene ), ( bad ) animations, a human character ( the viking, converted in statue in the scene ), and a PSP version ( link below ).
I did approx 110 different meshes, all handpainted and mostly sculpted in ZBrush. Something like 50 diffuse maps and 50 normal maps ( a lot of meshes share the same texture ), mostly 512x512 with some 1024x1024 and 2048x2048 for the big parts ( the bridge, the cliffs, the statue... ).
As the teachers asked for a beauty map, it's not really optimized, but it always runs at 60 fps. I used small lightmaps and separated little meshes, no multimat meshes, as recommended for PS3.
The polycount is aprox 400 000 tris, don't know the exact number.^^

There's some great detail in the textures here. I see in the snow, the shaded areas have a slightly different tint to them, what type of shader did you use to create that effect?

That's just the combination of normal mapping and specular, it makes the bumps shine more. But that's an old work, now in games they use PBR materials so those old materials are outdated.
