- Day 12: Shadow -

In Busan, black smoke started welling up from the sewers. From the smoke appeared a mechanical humanoid making a constant humming noise. It proceeded to cut down buildings with its large bladed arms, enveloping the ground below in its pitch black smoke. D.A.K.A jets were quick on the scene, but before their weapons could lock onto the kaiju it sunk into its own smoke and disappeared. It then reappeared several hundred meters away to continue its assault. Tanks armed with new experimental energy weapons were deployed, and they proved effective at forcing the kaiju to stay on the move rather than to attack. As the sun set, the kaiju disappeared and didn't reappear. Figuring it requires sunlight to operate, D.A.K.A was up for a sleepless night figuring out how to attack. But then as they had let their guard down, the kaiju appeared in the brightly lit airport. Completely ripping the building apart, it disappeared with the lights going out. Now realizing it will appear anywhere with sufficiently bright lights, power to the city was cut off to facilitate complete darkness. With only a couple of hours left before sunrise, a plan was devised. Bright spotlights were pointed to a single point with D.A.K.A's experimental weapons ready. Like clockwork, the kaiju appeared and the guns fired as soon as it had materialized. The weapons made short work of the dangerous but fragile kaiju, impressing the leaders enough to give D.A.K.A the greenlight to start Project Kaiju Destroyer.
