Turkey was hit by a giant insect, its thrumming wings drowning Ankara in a deafening hum. The local forces stood no chance to hit it due to its incredible speed, but at least they kept the kaiju occupied by forcing it to dodge rather than destroy the city. Suddenly a shot ripped through its side, causing it to tumble through the air. It stabilized to face its opponent, but the MAKO2 had already readied another salvo. This time the insect managed to avoid the shots, and it responded by shooting a barrage of stingers. The MAKO2 blocked the stingers, but didn't notice the kaiju charging in. Its giant claws grabbed the neck of the MAKO2, and in a single stroke decapitated the mech. The MAKO2 was still functional, but without its sensors the pilots would have to do manual aiming.
It swatted the insect to the side and fired its Tengu cannons, ripping one of its wings clean off. The kaiju tried to go in for another guillotine cut, but its missing wing slowed it down enough for the MAKO2 to charge the Ion Annihilator. The blue beam tore through the insect, leaving nothing but a charred husk.
The MAKO2 had been heavily damaged, but there was no time for repairs.
