Description
Well, I noticed that there wasn't a tutorial for making Shimejis with the Gimp Program. And it is a little different than using Photoshop... Just some extra steps that you need to be weary of.But yeah. I do hope that this helps becuase I remember I was talking to a user who was a little frustraited that they had to go by Photoshop tutorials for making a Shimeji.
For those of you who do not know what a Shimeji is, it is a Japanese program that allows little chibis to walk around your screen and give you hell by reproducing like crazy and throwing your conversations out of the screen. They are a lot of fun. here is the link for the English version, in which you can also get a Link Shimeji thrown into the pack.

I did not make the England base. It is not mine. It's 's work. You can download England here:

If you wish to download GIMP click on the link below. It's free.

I have this tutorial on youtube, in case if there is any confusion. I personally like having somebody explaining and me seeing at times when I am learning something... So here's the link:

GIMP is the name of a computer program that is VERY similar to Photoshop. Shimeji is a computer program that does require JAVA, so make sure you have the latest that accepts it. This tutorial is mainly for those who already have GIMP and Shimeji. If you want to learn more about either one, you can go on google.

GIMP is just a free program a lot like Photoshop. I don't think it means anything.

Did you look at the youtube link I posted? You have to make sure that you either click on the eye icon in the layers section, or flat out delete the England Layer.

Explain what exactly is happening.
What I do is open the copied image file and open it up like a normal image file on GIMP.

A Shimeji is a Japanese program that allows little chibis to roam around your screen. They're really cute, but can reproduce a lot.

Can you be be a little more exact on what you mean? As in how I showed the transparent layers on the tutorial? Because if that's the case, all I did was hit the prt-scrn button. It's above the insert button and next to the scroll lock button.

oh, sorry. um like showing the layers in their own little window, where you can switch back and forth on which one you want to work on.

Click on the eye button. To move layers around, you hold them and move them wherever you want to move them.
