I'll be doing my first cosplay here soon in February. Β Is it the same process when you want to do a different skin color? Mine for example will with ben nye's cadaver grey(Only color I was given to get the look I wished to have.) I'll be dressing as Marshall Lee from Adventure Time.Β

if you are wearing a wig - you should put your wig cap on when you pull back your hair - it will keep it out of the way and then you don't have to fight with it later. Also you should use a make-up setting spray not hair spray on your face for the same reason you shouldn't use paint near your eyes - its not a very good method for your overall health and the setting spray will hold better.

I have a question!
Is this tutorial good for guys too?
I know some sections of the tutorial are not necessary for a male cosplaying a male.
But I was wondering if I could use this to make my face look better for male characters.
Thank you!
And awesome work!

Thanks! My boyfriend has the same issue so we just used a stronger coverage concealer and foundation for him in a more pale tone to cover it all up - using green concealer to cancel out the red on your face helps a lot too!

Skin care products are the most important part of getting an even skin-tone. Not just loading your face up with makeup to look pale. You need to take EXTRA good care of your skin, get toners and wash your face morning and night... apply lighter moisturizer in the morning so your face isn't as greasy but then a more generous amount at night time. It will take some time to see a difference but it will be worth it! If you permanently damage your skin then there's hardly any way to go back. Your skin is one of your most precious gifts... take care of it.

Hi I have a question. I want to cosplay Ulquiorra and his skin is so pale that I've been having trouble deciding what to buy for makeup. I'm planning to by a primer, 'porcelain' foundation, and some white costume makeup. I'm afraid it will get really streaky if I sweat too much though. o_o [which normally isn't a problem for me, but Ulqui's costume looks stifling!] I don't want my skin to look pure white though, because then it looks really strange.
Do you have any tips for that? Also, for the turquoise tear-like-marks down his face, I have eyeliner pencils but they don't work well for that. They aren't precise enough. Should I try finding liquid turquoise makeup? o_o"
Thank you for reading!

the-sushi-monster In reply to ViTong4 [2011-10-09 02:01:44 +0000 UTC]
Hello!! You are already doing good, I'd do the primer first then the white as a base with the foundation over it? For the white costume makeup I'd get a sealer first so that it doesn't melt, and throughut the day use translucent powder to keep your makeup in place so if you sweat it wont affect it! For the teal marks you can use eyeliner as a base to draw in the design then go over it with cream makeup, or even a gel/liquid eyeliner in the right color. I know a lot of hihger end brands sell the right turquoise color in gel/liquid eyeliners if you need it! Like Urban Decay or Makeup Forever.
