I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY!!
I have been so busy as of late. Work is knocking me sideways, and my connection failed yesterday (It's a conspiracy, I tell ya!) so I apologize for being late with this page. I really just didn't have the time or means to upload.
Not a heck of a lot happeningΒ in thisΒ page, but that last panel is at least a bit of a cliff-hanger, right?
I must admit, it was fun playing around with expression in this page. Zim's facial features here needed to speak volumes, as he is contemplating a new angel on this issue with Dib. Fascinating, isn't it?
The biggest problem I perhaps had with this page was getting the colouring right for his house (even grabbing a screenshot from an episode to make sure they were looking right)
Not an easy task, but it came out the way I was hoping it would (and in all honesty, the scene on the next page was even more of a challenge than this, so...)
I hope to see you all again with the next page sometime next week. Work on this comic has stalled quite a bit, so I apologize if it takes a while. But we will have this baby finished! I will make sure of it!

Oh, somebody's gone and broken into Zim's house? (Well... to be honest, GIR probably invited them in.) I'll take three guesses what glasses-wearing dork it is, and the first two won't count.
"Or was there something the... once almighty Zim was missing?" Ah yes, one of my favorite tropes. "Character is missing X thing, but doesn't know they're missing X thing, just that they feel off about something." (Also, don't think I missed that 'once'. Zim knows he's past his prime by now, and is probably wondering if he was ever really 'almighty' at all. Sucks to be slapped in the face with reality.)
I really like the expressions and shading on this one, and the little vague shape of Dib above Zim's head in the third panel. He's just exhausted by this whole thing by now. As always, can't wait to see what happens next!

I think at some point in time, Zim would realize either the mission was a fake, or that he just wasn't measuring up to these false expectations his leaders had for him. So....yeah, I felt like making a little poke at that with this comment. Poor Zimmy. He really is such an interesting character when used correctly.
That image of Dib was a little bit of a nightmare to get right. It's easy when you draft it on a page in a notepad. But trying to get the coloring into it on GIMP without it selecting and ruining everything else takes a lot of forward planning
