I made some minor modifications to my Reliant model, mostly on the pylons. They are much smoother now and the phaser cannons are more accurate...Models by me

I always felt that if the Romulans ever designed a Federation starship, it would be the Miranda class.

Did you know that the engines being downward was a happy accident?
Originally, the story was written to have two Constitution class vessels slugging it out, but Paramount thought that audiences might be confused by having identical ships in combat.Β So, they created this ship, but it was intended with nacelles up, like the Enterprise.Β Β In a viewing by Roddenberry, the producers, et al, the Reliant was accidentally shown flying upside down, with the nacelles facing down instead of up like intended.Β It received a positive viewing, and thus, the final tweaks to the Reliant were made with the nacelles facing down, and righting the saucer section.

It is interesting to think of how the Reliant would look with nacelles up.Β In fact, when I do my next rebuild of the Reliant, I may just do a variant with the nacelles up, as originally intended.Β

When its the BoB, absolutely; when its a bunch of T-65s taking on TIEs, damn right. But not multi-million ton starships. Bismarck and Hood didn't close to hull-scrape distance and put on an aquatic display; they jockeyed for position and exchanged broadsides. There aint any other way
