Description This image was created using VUE 2014 Complete and comprises of 34 Million polygons @ 14 hour 56 minutes render time via the external renderer.

This scene consists of a Poser model called Drone Eye available from Renderosity.com and a Mesa Valley with a resolution of 4096 pixels with a custom procedural function.

A depth map was used to help with localised enhancements within Photoshop and lens flares were added to help give that little extra kick

I decided to do this after watching the movie Oblivion with Tom Cruise. Might do some more things regarding that movie but there's a lot of other projects that need clearing out first!
Even though the whole image is still usable as a wallpaper, the main image was rendered in cinemascope ratio to achieve that movie feel

Thanks for viewing, all constructive criticisms welcome!

The movie β€œOblivion” is owned by Universal Pictures.

yes, the landscape were good.

btw, the movie was actually based on a graphic novel that came out the year before.Β  never got around to buying it, so I don't know how it compares to the movie.

This looks really cool!
Have you tried to get those lens flares within Vue instead of PS?

I've never tried to get lens flares within vue, I've never been able to get any form of good result with it within the program itself

They look pretty good, if you manage to get them. But it's a lot of tweaking necessary till they look like you want them.
Maybe I'll try on my next image to get something similar, like you did in PS. Actually I'm pretty curious if Vue can do something similar...
