Description
In my opinion, religion should not have a place in government or civil matters. Β It is fine if you worship yourself, but I believe firmly in the separation of church and state. In reality, it is not in the constitution that states separation of church and state, but in the federalist papers, as well as in correspondence that the Founding Fathers had between themselves and with others. Β For a meld of church and state creates a theocracy, like Saudi Arabia and Iran, and you see how much people have suffered in those countries because of that.
Plus, in the constitution, it clearly outlines that the government cannot establish a religion, and it is potentially dangerous for a government, whether federal, state or local to establish a religion for that sector, as it can breed prejudice and hatred, and lead to a slippery slope where freedoms are abolished in favor of so called "morality."

I agree with this.Β If they were not separated, there's a chance it would result in society being a lot worst than people claim it has been.

I agree with this. I say keep the bible in churches and not in the classroom or teacher's curriculum. Β

And it will be even better for us, Atheists, if all religious organizations would be banned.

Do you mean 'Church' or religion? Because Church refers to Christians only.

Ever notice how it reads 'Church and State' instead of 'Religion and State'? Also why can't I seem to find those words (Separation of Church and State) in the United States Constitution? Why is it that a personal letter that Jefferson wrote is considered Law of the Land? And if Separation of Church and State is true then how come Atheism which is considered a Legal Religion in the US is able to influence their religion upon how public displays of religion are done? By getting visual images of religion taken down aren't Atheists pushing their legalized religion onto the rest of us? Also hasn't people in the past considered Government to be their 'god' or 'religion' and claimed their Rights come from Government instead of a Creator(God)? And what about the wording of the Constitution mentionsΒ a Creator(God?). Should that word or the whole line be stricken from the Constitution?

First of all, the US has no state religion. Thus it is a secular state. SECULAR! It must be emphasized.Β
I don't know what kind of idiot would consider atheism to be a religion. First of all, atheism is absolutely not a religion. They have no place of worship, which means they can't be a religion. They can't collect donations for income. They can preach "there is no god" all they want, but they shouldn't be considered a religion.Β
"Should that word or the whole line be stricken from the Constitution?"
Well let's see. First of all, the line you're talking about is this: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"Β
The establishment clause.Β
We need that because religion and government do not mix. Remember Salem Massachusetts in 1692, Or inquisition Spain? Horrendous events brought on because religion was the center of government and some fool found a way to create mass hysteria out of it. Therefore, religion in government is too flawed. Because people can take advantage of the religious government and pull something horrendous.Β
Of course, the UK considers Christianity to be a state religion, so does Norway, Denmark and Greece. The only reason why they don't turn out like Salem or the Inquisition is because the amount of Christians in these countries is getting lower and lower, they're either dying off, converting to other religions, or moving to another country. Hell, not even all the prime ministers of countries with a state religion were the same religion the state considers to be their state religion. Remember Alexis Tsipras? Former Greek prime minister and he is an Atheist. Another reason why UK, Norway, Denmark, Greece, and other Christian state religion countries remain stable is because they rarely or don't have pro-life or anti-LGBT Christian movements over there. Even if they do, they aren't very influential over government. Unlike the Bible-Nuts in America, who not only think it's okay to stick Gays into conversion therapy camps and steal the right for women to get rid of a baby that they don't want that will probably end up getting nowhere in life, but have also found a way to become very influential in our government. If you really think the establishment clause should be stricken from the constitution, we'll see what goes down, and it's probably not going to be pretty. Because it's not going to be cute or funny when a women who doesn't want a fetus she is pregnant with goes into an alleyway and someone has to stick a coat hanger inside of her to preform an abortion, which is not all the times successful. All because these Bible-Tards like Rick Santorum or Mike Pence want to make a "Holy land" out of this nation.Β
Face it, the US must remain secular, and it must always remain secular. Because some Christians, or even Jews or Muslims can't be trusted. Don't think I'm singling out Christians in general, because there are a lot of Muslims here too who want to change this country to suit them more. Some Muslims here want Sharia law, and some Christians want to get rid of abortion and gay marriage rights. Christianity rarely ever does terrorism at least.
We must remain secular!

Atheism as a Religion -Β www.wnd.com/2005/08/31895/
Just because Congress can't establish religion doesn't mean schools can't practice religious beliefs either.
No I don't remember Inquisition(which the numbers was not as bad when compared to every other cause of death back then) nor was I around for the Salem Witch Trials(in which people threw away their Faith in God for greed.)
UK is not that Christian based. Its more Socialist in terms of Healthcare and even whats on their TV.

So why does the UK still have state religion?
And how ironic how people were calling no religion, athiesm, a religion. That just seems absurd.
