I suggest you to read about the "Corona Ferrea" (iron crown) symbolism. It's pretty the first symbol of unified Italy since the Longobard Kingdom. I think it will nicely fit in this coa!

I know. But this is a Republican CoA. You may realize that every animal's crown has been erased, this is on purpose.

I understand the she-wolf symbolism, but the similarity with Sarkozy coat of arms still amazes me.

It's the same wolf. I wanted the city to be symbolized by the She-Wolf to represent Rome all by her self, because of her being the "mother" of Rome and Sarkozys wolf was the one that looked the most like it to me
The reason for him ahving this wolf as his arms would be interesting though ..
