Can you tell me something about the tools used to create this beautiful thing?

Only GIMP2 (even though it's pretty limited, but I'm used to it) and stuff you can find on wikimedia commons

HiΒ TiltschMaster ,
this is very impressive, congratulations!
I was wondering where you found the coat of arms of Italy, as I have never seen it before and it intrigues me!

hahahahahaha, i like it! I have noticed the kings of Italy under the Carolingian empire don't have a coat of arms

None of them had coats of arms at the time. The arms for the Carolinigians were created post-mortem during the High Middle Ages, when coats of arms became commonplace.

Looks great! But I have couple of questions:
1) Where did Italian arms came from?
2) Why no Burgundy and Aquitaine? Both were Carolingian kingdoms, and Burgundy existed for quite a while.
Also I think if Carolinginans conquered entire Iberia, they wouldn't keep it as one kingdom, because it would be too powerful. Probably along the lines of old Visigothic provinces.

Well in reality the CoA of Italy was the Shield of the Savoy, Β a Royal family who have ruled the Kingdom of Italy from 1861 to 1946. And have ruled too the Kingdom of Sardinia (1701-1861) and the Duchy of Savoy (1061-1701)

1) Since Italy at that time had no coat of arms and only the later small duchies and republics adopted their own, I decided to use the female wolf as the symbol of Rome and thus Italy.
2) Well, honestly, I don't realy know. I just figured that at some time they maybe would have to change internaly and this is what I came up with. I know that is mostly very illogical, but hey.

Wirklich sehr schΓΆn

Hmmm, would the cross on the crown of Hungary be tilted? Since there was no A-H during which it got squashed in a chest and the arms changed?

Shit, you're right Β
Let's say there was an Archbishop of Esztergom who was shaking during the coronation of one random king and he dropped it. Of course he was executed and excomunicated

Pretty :3 But we should have Teschen
Also, is it just me or is Rhodes blue? O_o
π: 0 β©: 1
TiltschMaster In reply to SoaringAven [2014-06-28 15:22:33 +0000 UTC]
Yes, it is supposed to be blue cause it stayed in the posession of the Order of St. John ..Β
In my thought, the got driven out for a short time by the Byzantines, but when the Byzantines had to rely on the Carolingians to not be conquered, they leased the island back to the Order and therby it became part of the Carolingian Empire. Rhodes and Malta are now ruled by the Order of St. John as part of the Carolingian Empire, for wich reason the order is represented in the CoA. It made sense to me when I created this
