Description At the end of World War I, wich originaly started as a power-sturggle between Serbia and Greater Hungary over controll of Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro proposded unity to Bosnia in order to form a united, more well-fortified state able to defend itself against possible future agression by Hungary against them. At first, Bosnia hesitated. It had just achieved it's indpendence, so it was reluctant to give it up again. Only after King Alexander I. inherited the throne from his father and agreed to grant the three member states certain freedoms, Bosnia agreed and joined the union.

The country is a constituional monarchy with a supreme parliament in Belgrade, that also decides over policies of Serbia. Montenegro and Bosnia both have their own regional parliament, that have authority over local government and - most importantly - religious matters. Since 1952, Macedonia and Kosovo are autonomous provinces of Serbia with a lesser degree of autonomy. In both parts of the country, movements exist that aim for greater autonomy for their respective regions.

The dictatorship of Alexander in this TL never existed, because the moch less ethnicaly diverse state never had as many internal problems as OTL's Yugoslavia, mostly because Croatia is not a member, so the terror campaigns of the Ustasa never happened.

Yugoslavia is a member of the League of Nations and houses several of the Leagues military bases, mostly concentrated at the long border with the Federation of the Danube. It is the only country on the Balkans to be an official and supporting member of the League.

In recent years, relations with it's socialist member have improved due to relations between East and West imrpoving in general, mostly because in the US, the Ottoman Empire and Great Britain governments have been forced to disarm to a certain degree, both militarily and rethoricaly, by massive public protest.

Slavic heraldry I find very interesting, since it diverts in a certain way from "normal" European heraldry to be very interesting And yes, he was. Fun historical sidenote: It actualy was the first murder of a person caught on camera since he was assassinated on a diplomatic trip to Paris wich was filmed

And the second part ... well ... what should I say

The shooter was a Macedonian-Bulgarian seeking independence for his country. It was a very stupid move, as most political assassinations are. And yes, they should not have happened.
