Description “Delirium is always in a state of flux. She’s never the same at any given time. At one moment she could have red hair, the next it’s a bright orange - it all happens just as fast as a lightning bolt flashes. Her body and her mind are a tempest, a chaotic continuos commotion that never stops moving. A pity to be her, never ever settling, what a torture it is to have a life full of uncertainty.”
~About Delirium

Delirium was the first digital art I ever did and it was also part of my IB Visual Arts exhibition. Being my first digital art piece, certain areas show how much of a beginner I was. When I did this piece, I was at the crossroads of my art journey, deciding/settling on what medium mattered to me the most and thus this first digital piece of mine has a place in my heart.

You may notice that the facial proportions and everything about her figure is off. This feeling may come to you as a sense of unease (e.g "I have a bad feeling about this) and this is what I wanted to achieve. Delirium is an acute state of confusion and I thought that best way to achieve this is through the facial features being out of proportion. I might have made it a little bit too obvious but it achieves the effect with almost everyone it comes across, so I'm quite happy.

Having just learnt digital art, I wasn't very good at doing the hair bit so I just blocked in thousands of tiny strands - turned out quite nice (albeit slightly amateurish)

The piece was originally part of my Personification theme and it started off with the word "Delirious" before I searched google and found Delirium of the Endless from Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman" Graphic Novel. I took some inspiration from her and I liked the concept of how her appearance would give you discomfort/confusion and how she her appearance would look like it's changing (her eyebrow!)

Hope you like it!

Really beautiful work, her skin looks like porcelain and it fits perfectly with her red lips. The way you painted her hair is impressive too

for being your fisrt piece this looks actually pretty good, the details of the eye are especially cool, with the thunders inside (they're thunders, right?) hair is maybe too straight on the bottom left, but hey, the colours are beautiful, so nothing to say about this!

Haha thanks! It was tough hill to climb when i started digital art! I'm glad you liked the colors! Yup they're lightning streaks reflected in her eyes.

This is amazing! I'm surprised that this was your first digital piece! The grassy hair lets you see every color of every strand, which is very pleasing to look at. When looking at the background and how it connects to the shading....
Just....
Wow.
The emotion in this is incredibly powerful. After reading your description, her confused expression made sense. You can't really really what emotion she has, though, which makes me want to stare at her trying to figure her out. I immediately made a connection with this. Truly one of the most emotional and lovely works of art I've ever seen. Everything about her has it's own dimensions and style, it is amazing to just stare at all day. I'm very jealous of her hair; why can't mine look so soft?! It almost reminds me of a kitten's fur.... I don't know why.... But it's so gently combed and blurred to perfection (?). This is the kind of art that gets me all "poetic". Wonderfully done. I hope that you never forget about this one... Just absolutely stunningly powerful.
I would say that my favorite part is the lightning bolt reflecting in her eye; a reward for looking closely at detail. Wonderful. Thank you sooo much for posting this, it just made my day... I have NEVER connected to a piece like this before... I don't know why it's so stunning...
