Description You know...I at first meant for this cutie to be introduced in HSIS, but figured this was a perfect time to reintroduce her.

As though the two Daffy English Kniggits didn't have enough animal buddies already. XD

-------------------------------

In this case? Rosie is an Acromantula who bears closest resemblance to a Chilean Rose Tarantula. Contrary to popular belief, Aromantulas DON'T hunger for human flesh. Especially not when there's better food items about. But they do grow to huge sizes, making Rosie a youngling. Albeit already the size of a Pekingese.

Even so...one thing that I should mention is that spiders are literally Tara's favorite animals. Their fuzzy bodies, their eight legs great for hugging, their adorably tiny eyes, their little muzzle and fangs...she loves the WHOLE PACKAGE when it comes to spiders. In fact, she has often wished they were BIGGER, so that she could cuddle them!

Now...Selenia, Alexandria and Ixi? They're companions, because they respect Lady Tara and Rugtla, and wish to grant them their service. But Tara thinks of Rosie in much closer terms! Whether as a pet, or friend, it's not too clear. It doesn't have to be.

She just loves Rosie. Just like she loves Rugtla.

----------------------------

Not to mention...having an Acromantula as a companion helps too.

Rosie wouldn't let the other meanie Acromantulas lay a hand on Tara's friends, and make her sad, now would she?

You'll see what I mean soon enough.

Yayyy!

I do believe that since these are a species known as "Rosaceous Acromantulas", they're likely found in the deserts of the Spider Kingdom. Since it takes a while for Acromantulas to grow to full size, the baby ones simply fly via "balloons" made of silk.

Of course, these balloons have a nasty habit of getting caught on cacti, tall buildings, and other tall structures. Which is why it's commonplace for the Spider Kingdom's people to rescue spiderlings who get themselves stuck.

Aww, the poor babies!

They need a safer way to spawn, maybe some kind of net system or roofing to help keep the kids from being left hanging on the side of a tall building or a dangerous cactus...

Methinks the main race of the Kingdom, the Arachlians, are working on something of that sort!

They're working on a large scale reservation surrounded by a dome of mesh-like netting. An area abundant in low-level vegetation, and with no cacti or aerial predators. Not to mention, the mesh allows them to climb down safely if they land on it. At least until they grow too heavy to fly.

Besides! When that happens, these Acromantulas just cartwheel around on the sand instead.

A pretty far cry from Harry Potter's stereotypical giant killer spiders! XD

Yeah, European and Asian mythology in general is chock full of scary spiders. America and Africa had some more positive depictions like Iktomi and Anansi.

What a cutiepie! Is Rosie Tara's pet? Or would she be more akin to a companion?
