a pair of Republic F-105D Thunderchiefs in the standard USAF Tactical Air Command camo pattern,commonly known as Vietnam Camoflauge. applied to a rigid USAF Tech Order,and usually stenciled and applied using large rubber mats cut and shaped accordingly,with a 4-color pattern consisting of FS 30219 Dark Tan,34102 Medium Green and 34079 Dark Jungle Green on top,all undersurfaces 36622 Camoflauge Grey. {FS=Federal Standard FS595A} same FS colors used on most TAC aircraft,but SAC had other unique camo colors of their own for their heavy bombers.Related content

our state ANG was the last unit to use them operationally. {McGuire AFB,New Jersey} F-105G "Wild Weasels",retired in 1983.

sure is. we and our British friends usually followed set specs and patterns from way back,and pretty much everybody does nowadays. a lot of WWII Axis{enemy} aircraft did use many non-standard "hurry-up/slop job" camos,especially towards the end,when things began to get desperate and chaotic.

i actually almost got knocked down by one as a 13 yr-old! it was at Bradley Field,CT. i was on a ramp area watching one take off{CTANG},and when he kicked in his AB......KABOOM!!!!! what a concussion! {this was in the days when security at airports just wasn,t so paranoid,and you could actually enjoy yourself....!}

sure do! even at a place like COAir,at the end of every fiscal year,it all adds up on The Bottom Line. one of our biggest problems in the US is that we just have too much money/currency out there in circulation{Funny Money}but nowhere near enough gold,silver,platinum to really properly back it up with. and they just keep on printing more as needed........

how many time have you been shot down? it did happen a lot to F-105s......going "Up North" was dangerous.
