again, i'm tired of seeing bad artwork created with bases so i made this. i hope it will help someone. this took me a long time so i hope people will pay attention to it.oh and if you don't have the Paint.net program i mentioned, just type it in on google and you should be able to find the cite. that's the program i make all of my bases on for any of you who actually like them.
i have nothing more to say i guess . . .

This. X3 Saying it's 'the right way' is a really condescending thing to say. Not everyone dolls the same so there's no 'right way' as long as the artist is happy with the result!

To be blunt, the issue is that yours do not follow the laws of anatomy.
Hair is not a line across a bald forehead and then painted over with bubblegum. Clothes are not melted into your body with the same tones as your skin.

I think your forgetting one thing. It's something called a "style of art". Some people want to spend over 10 hours on a base and draw 10,000 hair strands and do expert shading. I'm not like that. I'm one of those people who "keep it simple". Do you KNOW what "simple" means? ;n; And what you just said is VERY offensive. ;n;

That last one took NINE HOURS. The others took far less time. The first three I sent you took maybe 2 hours.

I can not stand people like you. I have been in AsahiGirl 's shoes. Being criticized by the way I do my art. Everyone has there own style. How would you like it if I just looked into your gallery, picked out one of your pieces of art like... inside-our-mind.deviantart.com… for example and how would YOU like it if I said. Oh look at that horse everything is wrong about it, it doesn't follow the rules of anatomy, I mean LOOK at that thing. It doesn't have a mouth OR nose! And look it hooves are POINTED it couldn't stand like THAT. Look at it's eye. Nag nag, nag nag nag, nag, NAG!
Now, I don't mean that because I understand what UNIQUE STYLE IS! I hope you learned something today.

Blobs for hair is not a style. It's laziness. It's not caring. It's looking at a base and saying "I don't want to spend a single second on this, and I couldn't give fuck all if this looks even remotely like a person. Lazy is not a style. It's a hinderence. It stops you from improving, and the whole claim that it's a style is an excuse for not putting any heart or effort into what you pretend is art. Because that's what art is: heart and effort. Not style. Effort.

and it honestly only takes me like, 30 mins? If you just put a little bit more time into it, I swear that it will be way better! And my art's simple, it doesn't have a lot of folds, the folds there are what the base already had, but I put effort into the hair and trying to shade good. I promise if you just put some more time into it you can do way better! And if you want, I'm SURE a bunch of people would be willing to teach you some easy tricks to make it look detailed without effort!
