So you'd also make the rest go a bit past teh base colour if you don't want the base to show it on the outside or should you do the base on another layer and then erase some. >> Or when you get the the end strands make the brush for the base thinner? Sorry for the questions, just curious. I really love the tutorials though, they helped me greatly. I'm just wondering about this.

excuse me, but i'm sort of new to the digital-drawn world... what resolution would you need to draw hair that detailed?? if it helps, i'm drawing the whole body of the person with some space around her, so it's not very zoomed in, but still close. thanks!

godking7 [2008-07-05 07:36:07 +0000 UTC]

I have a question (actually about part one)

When you do the hair is it possible to start with a light color and put in the darker lines? Instead of darker first and coloring most of it lighter leaving spaces

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ToySkunk In reply to godking7 [2008-07-05 19:50:19 +0000 UTC]

I find it much harder to do it that way. If you do it the way you describe it can be very fiddly although if you're used to painting in watercolour and thus painting light to dark it might work. However I don't recommend it. I prefer to take advantage of the opaque nature of Photoshop painting.

godking7 In reply to ToySkunk [2008-07-05 21:56:50 +0000 UTC]

Well for me when I try to do it like your tutorial says I can't get the lines to look right. They end up too big or too small etc. Do you know anything that I might be doing wrong?
