I love the colour pallettes you made for hair. I never used pure black either because it makes the drawing unnatural. (anyways i'm working at my first CG). Thank you for phe colour pallettes here. promise to use them

VERY VERY useful! perhaps if you do a part three You could show movement in hair? Like wind or when someone is moving quickly? Or different hair textures, like a Caucasian would have softer smoother hair compared to African hair that's coarser and nappy?

This is a really fantastic tutorial - not only do you provide colors to use for hair, but you give shapes and styles as well. Very nice!

Jeez, I'm sooo happy you did this. The color pallete is exactly what I was missing. No one explained it! Thanks sooo much! I kept using raw colors.

I bet it looks gorgeous!
When I say unnatural black - on recollection I should have put this in the tutorial (I'll perhaps go back and revise it) - I generally mean a sort of black that doesn't suit one's skintone. More people could get away with the brown-tinted than the blue-tinted black if they dyed their hair, but if you naturally have a blueish or purplish tint, I imagine it looks great.

I LOVE the colour palette. Now all I have to do is open up my photoshop and put them all in my swatches, but I'm too lazy to do that at the moment
Still, great tutorial!

I liked your first tutorial but, I think this one might be even more useful for me. The bottom part of this tutorial touches hairstyles and such; that is my biggest gripe with making hair.
Nice work!

I definitely think that tablets are worth the money - they make digital work feel so much more traditional. Thanks for looking at the tutorial - and being so enthusiastic about it!

Wonderful! I absolutely love it. I wish I had a graphics tablet!!! *sniff sniff* I have been trying to practice with your other tutorial with my touchpad and a finger, and I am just not getting it yet. The closest I have come was the Deviant ID I did... Not such a pretty thing, but it fit - I'm not such a pretty thing either. HAHA
I know you can't spend all your time making tutorial, but you are very talented at doing it. Your conversational tone is easy to read and follow and your illustrations are clear and very understandable. Thank you for producing this one so quickly. I never dreamed you would be able to spit one out so fast! I certainly couldn't have.
I am most impressed and bow to your apparent omnipotency! You are my hero!

I bet it's quite difficult to manage on a touchpad. But don't put yourself down about it The deviant ID is small but I can make out the hair and it looks just fine to me.
I really enjoy making tutorials - and I take it as a serious compliment that you approve of my conversational tone. I do plan to make more. I wouldn't call myself omnipotent though!

Thank you for your overly generous compliment about my DeviantID. If you click on the image to download it, you will see it is not so good. Small it looks better than actual size.
Well, it is really neat seeing someone share their techniques rather than be so tightlipped to make it look like it is some secret recipe and if they shared it all the strength would leave their body like Sampson having his hair cut by Delilah (that is the closest comparison I can think of on short notice).
I look forward to seeing many more tutorials. Thanks again.
