Description

Mikulogic ... ?

Well this stage started off as a doodle and a mistake. I was bored a couple of nights back and sketched out in 3D using SketchUp Make a 'Maltese Cross'. I've been thinking of creating a stage based on that motif for awhile and every now and then, I would begin trying to hash a design out but usually it would end up nowhere and another idea would crop up and I would go with that.

This time it would probably been no different, especially since I screwed up with the dimensions. What I usually do is come up with the basic shape for the performance area, then export the raw shape to MMD to test out against an MMD model to make sure the size and shape was right. Only this time I used a model that I've always been very fond of but seldom use: Tda Append Miku ver 1.0.

The performance area was supposed to be 10 feet in radius, but I messed up and it was 10 feet across in diameter - just barely the minimum usable floor area for a single MMD performer.

And so I was looking at Tda Miku Append and this ridiculously small stage and thought oh well I could scale it up, but that's when Miku started 'talking' to me. No I am not going crazy - I always have 'internal dialogues' when designing 'stuff'. Just that this time the dialogue manifested itself as a conversation with Miku.

Bottom-line was she liked the size. It was 'just right' - I didn't believe it at first so I tried out a few motions made for Miku and for the most part, she was right. And then she told me what to do with the rest of the cross - specifically to push them down and that's how it all started. Basically Miku 'designed' this stage. She told me what she wanted and where and then I built them as indicated.

She wanted all sorts of things. And fortunately, I had a lot of things that could be reused from previous projects, but the majority of the components used in the finished stage are new. All the old parts were rehashed and upgraded per Miku's instructions. Apparently she's very 'eco-friendly' and is big time into recycling.

And so here we have it. A stage completely built using 'Mikulogic' - and I have to say after watching the test/demo video made with it - 'WOW'. Even for me, this is a really, really nice stage. And here is what it has to offer in addition to it's sharp overall design:

- user configurable set up options: stuff can be moved around, etc.
- authentic lighting options that even a beginner can easily set up.
- a lot of parts can be animated including a motion-to-music light display unit.
- a motion capture display with alternate screen configurations and movable curtains.
- a performance environment module.
- and something that Miku really wanted: her own VMD Spectrum Analyzer unit.
- plus the set is easy to set up with illustrated instructions.

Do check out the demo video, it does a really good job of showing you the full potentials of this stage set. Honestly, when watching the video myself, I could not believe that this model was actually just a model created using SketchUp Make. In certain segments of the video, it actually looked like a real stage.

Thanks for reading!

You need to load the capture screen and turn on the screen capture mode or else all you will see is a white screen. Sorry I cannot respond in Japanese as I don't speak the language.

I don´t think the word "fantastic" is good enough to describe all of this, but I´m going to use it anyway

Fantastic... simply fantastic

That after effect ... hmmm ... might have benefited from toning it down a bit. Interesting choice of a Miku. Don't think I've ever seen this version, she looks really nice. But then again, I've stopped collecting Miku models ever since I've adopted the Mamama Appearance version as my "standard" Miku.

Yea I tried to tone it down.  I set the Tr value to 0.1 and still was a little too much.  The Miku model was by Colon found it in the wiki here: mikumikudance.wikia.com/wiki/C…  .  There is another Miku model I just ran across and took me a while to track down.  It's the Hatsune Miku high poly model Ver1.06 by charlie_aoyama.  Video of it is here. : www.youtube.com/watch?v=XB6EYH…  .  The model has a lot of neat feature such as moving hair bands and the speakers on her hips actually vibrate back and forth.  It's just.......too cute I think for me to use......maybe.   Lol!

That's a really interesting Miku variation. Very different from the norm but not off the chart. An extremely charming interpretation.

Maybe I should do a video tutorial on using VMD Spectrum? Would that help?

Another excellent video as usual - I like the sound of that new PC you have there. 5-10 min rendering time and can run any combo of effects? DROOL ...

lol, the back story of it sounds cool haha
So I'm taking that you have 2 Miku in your world, one who is the more mature and intelligent while the other is a more childish and simple minded one

Yeah, I tend to vary my Miku's personality around a bit depending on the model being used.
