Description Here's a trick borrowed from MMORPG models on how to easily attach objects to a MMD model (usually the hands). It makes holding x.file models of guns, bags, microphones, and other objects that can be held in the hands a breeze. You will no longer need dummy bones to do this and the attached/held object moves with the hands.

You can extend the procedure by adding additional attachment points for carrying (for example) a backpack or sword across the back.

Hope this helps. If you have questions please leave a note in the comments below.

CREDITS
Miku and leeks are the default models located in their respective directories of your MMD folder.

I would have to mix in Idolmaster guys to complete the needed number

Nothing wrong with that, the guys need some exposure too.

That's a good idea. But if you didn't wish to modify the model you could use VAC files instead. You can adjust the scale, position and rotation of the accessory.

There's several problems with that approach:

1/. The accessory still won't move with the PMD model as it moves. It still has to be associated with one of the bones on the PMD model.
2/. Most people won't even be able to make a VAC file (like me for example).
3/. VAC files are dependent on the labels of the accessory using the original language which was used to make them in the first place (Japanese), if these were subsequently changed as in the case with the default leeks, the positions would load incorrectly and the accessory would need to be moved manually as I had to when I made the picture at the bottom of the sequence above.

I haven't had any trouble. VAC files are simply text files. For example, you could copy and paste into Notepad this:

ネギ(左手)
negi.x
0.75
0.5,-0.6,0.0
0.0,-0.1,3.14
左手首

and save as "Negi_Left_LAT.vac" for LAT miku. For the right hand use this:

ネギ(右手)
negi.x
0.75
-0.5,-0.75,0.0
0.0,0.2,0.0
右手首

and save as "Negi_Right_LAT.vac". I think the negi are a little too big so I scale them to 75%.

Good job with the tutorial.

I tried cutting and pasting. I see how it works but for some reason all the values loaded but MMD did not read the bone value for some reason (even though the bone exists and labeled in Japanese text too).

Still it's good info. Rather cumbersome method and you will need a vac file for every accessory you want to attach to a model so it's not a particularly flexible system. With the attachment bones the process is a lot simpler.

Thank you for the comment and response.

BANGS HEAD ON WALL ... I did everything but try to open up one with a text file (like duh).

Thank You for that info.
