Get more memory or render at a smaller size.

Good to note - I wish he (the programmer) documents some these things somewhere.

How can I get MME to work in this ver? Only A few effects actually work... I've found sites that explain using MMEffects for version 7.39, but none explain for 8.03. What can I do to load things like the fireworks effect? Even diffusion isn't working for me any suggestions?

Weird? Mine works fine for all the effects I've used before. Which MME version did you install?
Btw, you could try using the newest MMD and see if it works there

Suggestion: See if there is an upgraded version of the effects.
I've found the same thing with some of my effects. They don't work with the latest reiteration of MMD. Unfortunately, that just comes with the 'territory', but then again, I'm now mainly using more 'modern' effects and so far most of those work. Just have to go with the flow I guess.

I still have 7.39 as back up, but nowadays I just keep using 8.03 as it is so much better. It does have issues, but they're minor.

Hmm... I didn't know there was that Accessories option, ah, this makes adjusting accessories easier! Especially when we have to attach the accessory onto a model, I don't have to manually input numbers and test it out. This is great
I have a question, though, what exactly does Camera Lighting Tracking do?
π: 0 β©: 1
Trackdancer In reply to Ryukrieger [2013-07-24 02:50:21 +0000 UTC]
Camera Lighting Tracking - note that this can be resource intensive.
What it does is to enable the user set lighting values and camera settings to be viewed in model manipulation mode. By default, when in model manipulation mode, the program uses the default camera and light settings.
So to return to the user set camera view, in version 8.03 you can click on the "camera" or "track" buttons.
To see the model under the user set lighting configuration, make sure the camera lighting tracking option in the menu is set.
It can be really useful when setting up your lighting, MME effects and final model adjustments - you no longer need to toggle between camera mode and model manipulation mode.

Ah, I see, thank you, I had to always switch between camera mode and model manipulation mode, with this it will be less of a hassle once we have MME in. Thank you very much!

It is to bad I must work on brs, it would be great to make a character for tutorial style stuff

Using MMD characters to illustrate points in tutorials is a good practice. Started off really using them to demonstrate the effects of actions that can be done to models in MMD, but with a little lateral thinking, it made sense to actually use them to introduce or explain the materials as well. The Overseas MMDC does have a huge pre-teen to mid-teen demographics and using these characters makes it a lot more "fun" when trying to explain what might be complex topics.
Not sure that we really need a character specifically for tutorials. Personally, I try to use this format to showcase good quality models and characters which don't tend to enjoy popular usage. Over the course of the year or so since getting involved in MMD, I am constantly surprised and delighted to see the creative energies and talents evident in the MMDC as a whole.

Um, I'm a little confused on which one I should download. How do I know if my computer is 32 or 64 bit?
π: 0 β©: 1
Trackdancer In reply to Enigma-Nyx [2013-07-23 03:22:45 +0000 UTC]
The easiest ways to find out are:
1. Look up your machine's spec online on the manufacturer's website.
2. Sometimes there's a label on the front or back that specifies this (if you didn't peel it off)
3. The User's Manual.
Or just download the 32-bit version as it'll work on both types of PCs.

Enigma-Nyx In reply to Trackdancer [2013-07-23 05:45:19 +0000 UTC]
Ah, thanks. I think I did peel that label off a while back, so I'll check the manufacturer's website to figure it out. In the meantime I'll try the 32-bit version. See if it doesn't crash my computer like usual.
π: 0 β©: 1
Trackdancer In reply to Enigma-Nyx [2013-07-23 05:55:23 +0000 UTC]
It should not crash your system. If it does, something else is going on.Β
You raised a good point though. MMD will crash my system if I don't do "something" first after it first loads. What I have to do before anything else is to load a premade .pmm - I use the sample.pmm file that comes with MMD. Then I clear it and MMD works fine. If I don't do this, it will crash after I load a model and try to do anything with it. MMD and my Nvidia graphics card don't like each other.

Enigma-Nyx In reply to Trackdancer [2013-07-23 06:23:19 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, maybe I'll try that and see if it works. Whenever I have MMD open for a little bit, say, ten minutes, it'll randomly cause my computer to hibernate, and I've been trying to figure out why.

1.3 MikuMikuDance (DirectX9 Ver.) ~ for a 32-bit machine

What is actually the big diffrence between MMD for 32 bits and 64 bits? I always used 32 bits cause I know it wokrs for sure, but I have a 64 bits PC, if it has advantages (to me) I might try getting 64 bits version of MMD ^^.
π: 0 β©: 1
Trackdancer In reply to DG-H [2013-07-24 01:38:14 +0000 UTC]
I am assuming that the 64-bit version would be faster as it would take advantage of the number crunching power of a 64-bit processor. I always use my 64-bit machine for my post production video work, since it does in about a minute what it takes my 32-bit laptop with dual processor a half hour or so to do.

8.03 renders at about the same speed for me as 7.39 - really depends on the codec you use and what you're rendering.
