I don't mind hunting passwords because of the often interesting associated linguistic learning experience, but if puzzles or riddles are involved, I don't waste any further time and just move on to look elsewhere.
I can understand and fully approve of password protection, but if they want to protect their models that badly, they can just keep the darned things.

Part of me wants to say that in a lot of cases, it's less about keeping people in general from having the models and more about keeping the filthy westerners/foreigners from having the models...but then again, that might just be my ignorant ass getting sick of puzzling through Google Translate's Engrishy results to the point of sometimes rage-quitting.

My way of fighting back against that was to create my own models. I had the hardest time finding editable Append bases for my Convergence Series because everyone was so busy playing the nasty and tiresome little "My editing rules are tougher than your rules are, so neeners!" game at the time, so I said to heck with the lot of them and made my own Append bases to edit.
And then, just for the "Up yours too, pal." good feels, I released them as FTE models for everyone to use, edit, and enjoy to their hearts' content, so they can just keep their precious models all to themselves if they want to.
Need an Append Meiko, IA, Miku, Haku, or Gumi model to edit but can't find one? Now you can just use one of mine.

... but if puzzles or riddles are involved ...

Actually, I concur. Usually I would only bother with passwords if I really wanted the model, and if there's a guessing game involved, only if the need was imperative, which it seldom is. But I do admit that sometimes, if I'm bored and wanted the challenge of solving a riddle I might tackle one of these just for the hell of doing it.

I'm laughing out loud, the title in red says something like "Merry Shitty Christmas!" I can just navigate through Nicovideo and VPVP Wiki without translating the whole page but i use Google to thranslate these hints. Don't think I know Japanese. I can read some kana, but almost no kanji

Yeah, Japanese passwords are tricky sometimes, but recently, more and more Japanese uploaders make it English :3

I don't care if it is in English or Japanese as long as the format is "DL password: [ whatever the password is ]". Simple 'cut n' paste' and I look at your piccy and watch your video too whilst I'm at it. But make me have to work out a riddle to figure out the password and there's a 99% chance I won't be bothered to watch the video. Just saying ...

Ah, yes, everybody loves Hoppo.

BTW, does the Sugiya model come with the weapon attachments in the artwork?

Neither models comes with the weapon attachments. This seems common with the Abyssal models, probably as the weapons are hard fo model.

Assuming the weapon attachments you're talking about are the weird bits in the first image's background, you might want to see if they are a separate download or come with another model, because I've seen them used in MMD videos.
