Description Of course, the majority of Goths are unique in their style and music preferences. However, within the subculture there are certain "types" of Goth with particular characteristics. And it can be fun to classify them. Naturally, classifications for each "type" vary from person to person, so you may disagree with what I say here!

I've heard people refer to the velvety Victorian-esque Goths as TradGoths, being the modern archetype, but I prefer to call that style Romantic as the style I consider TradGoth is the one closest to what the oldest bands, and their fans, used to wear.

As with all my work, please DON'T steal this! If you want to use it for whatever purposes, email me and ask me first.

EDIT: Corrected a spelling error - thanks !

Well, after reading all of these backwards, I highly enjoyed the series. Plus it was informational. Now I know quite a bit more about goth.

The guy looks kinda like the singer for the Cure (coincidentally, one of the major goth bands of the 80's) . Was that your insiration for his outfit?

Cool idea! This promises to be funny!

Actually it was inspired by a mixture of Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, The Birthday Party and generally Goths of that era.

I agree I was just going to say that, the female TradGoth looks like Siouxsie Sioux, and the male TradGoth looks somewhat like Tilo Wolff, when he wears his sun glasses Oo

Siouxsie Yes, I based her look largely on Siouxsie (as many Trad Goths in reality do).

No.... the way this Trad description ends? I'm oooooold and I am "happy" that there are baby goths out there perpetuating what ever the hell it was that makes a Goth. Even Clan of Xymo agree, they(he) just wont shut-up.
The best thing about being an old Goth and a manager, is that you can play old Goth all day at work and have a ban on rap, r'n'b etc... mmwAhahahahahahah!!!!!.............

To defend my work, note that this is a Trad Goth, NOT an Elder Goth...it is quite possible, in my opinion, to be an Elder Goth without being a Trad Goth or having Trad Goth sympathies, and vica versa. Age is not really a defining factor.

Secondly, I realise that not ALL TradGoths feel that way, but a heck of a lot of them do...this is a *stereotype* after all. That's why I have stated on the comments of every picture that you may well disagree with what I say.

Thank you for your comment.

Black or without, I never touch the stuff. It does strange things to your insides...

That is so good and incredibly true! Could I just mention - occasional (one 's'). It's a minor correction for an incredible piece of work though!
