Description
Of course, the majority of Goths are unique in their style and music preferences. However, within the subculture there are certain "types" of Goth with particular characteristics. And it can be fun to classify them. Naturally, classifications for each "type" vary from person to person, so you may disagree with what I say here!I myself am a big fan of Star Trek, love science, participate in role play, spend way to much time on the computer and speak Japanese. I am most certainly a Geek.

I love the Geek Goth girl's little Arms of Chaos pendant and her cuddly Cthulu- in fact, I think I own that outfit... Come to think of it, I think AM a Geek Goth; I like dark fantasy, sci-fi, Lord of the Rings, Michael Moorcock, Warhammer 40k, E.A Poe, werewolves and the Cthulu Mythos, the works of Ramsey Campbell in particular.

I've been reading these trying to figure out which one I'm most like, and I'm actually all over the place. I love MCR like an Emo Goth, but I also like Theatres des Vampires like Vampire Goths and VNV Nation like Cyber Goths, and I love the Victorian Goth style, and I like sci-fi and computer games like Geek Goths, and I'm into meditation and New Age stuff like Hippy Goths. So, I'm not really one thing or the other, but I guess no Goth is!

Yo, ya never can tell who's a poser, if you've read all of the "Types" you can see that about every goth you see as a style, either it's for the style, or for the music. Don't be so judgmental, or else you're just like the media, labeling what you don't understand

One of my characters is a geek goth, although she's a cross between a Geek Goth and a Metalhead; bookish and film crazy, yet fiercely opinionated and as vicious as a tiger.

For the music bands, I don't think a geek goth has to listen to goth music - I mean, their bands can be very variable since they might even be listening from Linkin' Park to [name of the band here]....whatever bands there is. There's no set of fave.
