...Clones. Dozens of them.
What is going on? Where did they come from? What are they really? Why am I asking so many questions? Will I ever answer them? Stay tuned to find out!
Hint: they are not changelings. :3
I've built a new filter in Inkscape for the fonts, this one looks way better than the previous try. Will fix the previous page at some point too. :3
Out of the backgrounds that you see on this page, the sharper ones are the ones that I vectored (using screenshots), the not-so-sharp ones are direct screenshots from the show (on the last panel, there were originally just 2 ponies :3). So as always, all credits go to the animator team. :3

I think I get what's going on here. You're making a plausible explanation for there being multiple background ponies in some shots in the show! And I like the way you're handling it! Looks like Lyra may have met with Sweetie Drops in this situation. Lol.

But if we think about it, they are clones with appearances, but if that Bon Bon look-alike-clone-thingy is not Bon Bon, then they must have their own personalities and names and such? :s And clones don't just *appear*, so there must be a reason. >.> If I think back to earlier pages, I swear Colgate and Doctor had some sort of disturbance? Is that linked into this whole "clone" thing?
What if time has been warped, changed, mixed? D: And these are all the possible versions of the ponies that could have became part of reality?! Dx

This is definitely an unexpected turn. I can't help but feel like you're making some kind of explanation for that occurrence in the TV show, when they use multiple copies of the same pony to fill up space in a crowd. Actually... it would be kind of cool if it was you and this comic that gave us the explanation for that.
