Description Okies!
Those 4 people in my poll that didn't want to see anymore of this, DON'T LOOK!

Here's another series that covers some basic information on lenses.

Hope it helps a bit!

Back in the 1970s, I was given this excellent rough definition.

Close-up photography is anything between the closest focusing distance of your unaided lens, and 1:1 reproduction on the film. You use extension rings, close-up (+ dioptre) lenses, and soon.

Macrophotography is creating images of between 1:1 and 10:1 on the film/sensor.

Anything over 10:1 is microphotography - though this used to be called photomicrography, since it was usually done through a microscope. True "microphotography" is when you photograph ordinary objects down to very small size on the negative with extreme clarity (such as microdots).

I personally like it that they don't use the word "macro". All that seems to do now is muddle things up.
