Description
After posting a horrible, mangled, terrible excuse for a map, I hammered out some basic Tectonics. Now I have a foundation that won't look like I tossed mashed potatoes against a blue tie dye blanket!OLD CRAP MAP:
I would LOVE some ideas for Plate names! I have a few ideas, but I'd like to know what you guys can come up with!

In addition to knowing which direction the plates are moving, think about how each plate interacts with the ones adjacent. So for instance, when two plate edges are going towards each other, you either have one slipping over/under the other, or both collide, usually creating mountain ranges! Additionally, in areas where plates slide against each other or away, you tend to get a lot of volcanic activity, and thus, islands!
More things for you to have fun pondering with your map, if they're relevant:
*Where did your people(s) originate/first land? Which directions did they spread first, which did they move to later on?
*Where did cities form, and when? (The age of the city and the technology available when it was first built can effect the setting in neat ways!)
*Where are the major trade routes between cities, if any? Why was this path chosen, and how has trade affected this path?
*How did long-term separation affect the creatures of the smaller land masses? (Lots of strange and wonderful creatures tend to live in remote places where they were lucky enough not to have any predators for countless generations!)
Just some neat ideas to keep the brainstorming going~!

I love all of these questions! Love them!
I have just wrapped up tossing in some "Himalayas" so the clash of continental plates has been addressed first! Woo mountains! Next I'll be digging an oceanic trench! *Giddy giggling*
I could also make a historical migration map, a map of cities, ruins and roads and a map of resources. Possibly just need two major maps for that.
I have not thought much at ALL about the animals that live on this world, only what the people brought and the strange creatures called the "Constructs" I might have to ask people to come up with new and strange (But not too strange) life forms to populate the world.
I love all these questions and ideas. Please, if you think of anything else, post it!
