Description Crayon shot with a pellet moving at 512 feet per second.
If you like this, you might like eggs shot with paintballs!

I recently got my high speed stuff out again and have been tinkering with it, trying to get better results. Hopefully some better stuff will come of it soon.

Check out my other high speed stuff on my website!

--------------------------------
Canon 40D + 50mm f/1.8
@ 1 second shutter speed, f/14, ISO 800
2 Strobes used to illuminate the scene quickly:
Strobotac 1531-AB
The quick flash creates an effective exposure of 3/1,000,000 of a second.

Thanks!
Hah, I know what you mean. I never would have thought that a picture of a pink crayon would become the most popular thing in my gallery. I guess these things can happen when you bring high speed projectiles into the mix.

You're welcome!

Haha! Yeah, I suppose so. You never know what'll happen anyway, that's for sure.

Dear Mrs., Mr., Miss, or Mr. and Mrs. Crayola: Words cannot express the deep personal grief I experienced when your husband, son, father, brother, or crayon was killed, wounded, reported missing in action, or photographed.

At the end of the day I like to see my men back in the crayon box, but sadly... that can't always happen. I'll be mailing his paper wrapping and remaining shards home in the coming days. We'll arrange and pay for a funeral service and a melting pot with three fun shaped molds to choose from to preserve your loved one forever.

I don't know what's harder. Taking the picture or shooting the crayon. It's a very pretty picture!
