Description
REVIVAL!!!Yes I am returning with this, a Leather greave I did for Castlefest 2013 (did not manage to get a second one in time, but that's okay)
The biggest piece of leatherwork I have done so far, experimenting with dyes and methods of applying. I am very pleased with the piece (though not with the pictures)
The design was first drafted in clay: unreal-hunter.deviantart.com/gβ¦
templates were made and cut individually. some from pre-blackened leather which is rubbish for tooling, the others were made from Veg-tanned leather.
Pieces were cut, tooled, dyed and stitched thogether by hand.
Tme taken: about a week of and on.
This one is the outside of the leg. Done on veg-tanned leather. tooled and dyed, then sewn to the rest. This side has an ouroboros, which I upgraded from circle to celtic knot. Really pleased with how that turned out, though I can see errors here and there in the way the shapes are done. (finished this on the last day, from cutting to sewing so it is possible)
Awesomely inspired by: i-tavaron-i.deviantart.com/artβ¦
I know this means my design is based off anothers work, but I fell so in love with how that looked I wanted to give it my own spin. So tip of the hat to that original piece.

^^ thank you very much. I fell in love with the design, and the clay try-out was a big succes for me. It's actually pretty comfortable, I've worn it three days straight.
