Made this from a scetch I made a while back. I was bored during mechanics class so I doodled something in my notebook. Then after a while I had a blueprint for something that looked like this, so I made it into something more serious, and here it is.The blade is made of Aluminium strip, 2mm thick.
The inlay in the blade is made of brass strip, roughly same thickness.
This was quite difficult, and there are gaps between the 2 metals. But for a first attempt I'm pretty pleased with the turnout.

^^ I know it is, but 'mini Dao' sounded better than 'Mini Guan Dao' so that's why I went with the first
Aside from that, it was more of an artistic spin off on a guan dao anyway, and I hate to use false names.

i'll probably be doing more, when i find time
though this is my first attempt at inlay, there is another work i made as a birthday present, it hat brass hearts and the alu was 1 mm thick, and those turned out a lot better, so i'm thinking of sticking with 1mm alu, and just 2 or 3 layers ^^

Goed gedaan :3 Ik vind vooral de vormen van de 'kop' (hoe anders te noemen?) goed en netjes. En op de foto ziet hij er groter uit dan 23 cm xD

thanx, i like the shapes too. took me a while to get em satisfactory.
misschien een muntje naast moeten leggen
en die 'kop' heet het 'blad', zoals met alle scherpe dingen
maar er zitten genoeg spleten tussen >.<
