this is a real life saver!!!
i've always used tree-brushes (though he upside-down grass one is very cool for pines!), but they always looked flat and boring.
making TWO brushes, one with shadows and one with lights is just BRILLIANT!
thank you!

Oh this is great! I could use this help on my landscape lol
by the way, do you have any how-to-make-costume-brush tutorial?
I think I'm learning it, but how do you make it have special effect? like the the ones in photoshop's default special effect brushes

Ah great. 8D The trick for the pinetrees is really helpful. I am still not sure if I can make foliage though.
First I will try this tutorial and see if I still have problems.
But all in all, this tutorial looks very helpful. I never would have gotten the idea with using brushes made from photos like that. I normally only use them for underpainting and then only the treetrunks, not the foliage. THis might make it a lot easier for me.
Thanks again.
I also sent the points.

Oki, after you tryed you can ask me whatever you want!!
furthemore I think it may help you to try painting forests in traditional media like watercolor and oils, try to simplify shapes, that is the way you'll learn how to paint the trees without all the detail gived by the brushes from photos.
And thank you so much for the points, you are great!

Con texturas invertidas? como es eso?

vandervals In reply to FJFT-Art [2011-04-07 00:11:27 +0000 UTC]
pues le aplicas una textura que toma la escala de grises de la imagen, y eso lo puedes invertir cuando creas el pincel, asΓ puedes tener una textura y su inversa :0
