Hmm... I've always had issues with making line art, especially since most of the tutorials I've found have been quite useless. This has been so far the most helpful, thanks :]

True true... It's pretty much just the digital part I screw up on though.

lol if you jsut think of it as glorified tracing, then it sort of simplifies things

Heheh, still 'glorified' hard. XD

THE BEST IN SHOW.
all of the others i saw, it's all shortcuts and settings! no one traces line forms anymore it's all outline > select > fill! that's why so much of it looks the same i mean damn after all the bullshit i got for using PSP it's become kind of apparent that i'm doing ten times more work. x_x
i liked your stuff early on though, when i first joined. i like vectors that don't use the line tool to lay everything out, they're less rigid. your tut covers pretty much how i do lines so i'll hold off on submitting for this week... wake me up when it's time to color...

thanks, i was told that i work in a time consuming roundabout way... i think there are only a handful of us that draw out our sketches instead of just tracing... so thanks ^____^

sparkpenguin In reply to Vashtastic [2008-01-06 01:33:20 +0000 UTC]
yeah the tracing is getting out of hand... i mean 'reference' means it's still recognizeable as your art if it's a take on something else. or what the hell is the point.
and by 'tracing forms' i mean drawing two-way lineart instead of just using the outline function in one direction over the whole thing.

Vashtastic In reply to Bakarti [2008-01-06 18:24:46 +0000 UTC]
well freehand is actually a vector program.... while photoshop is just raster... hence you can only make vexels

I still can't draw in a straight line with a tablet, half the time I'm using a mouse.
