Ah, no I'm actually fine with Lily. I just think she is a bit distracting after all, even if she's only half in the pic. Though, I do like that you included her...so, as I said I am torn with which version I prefer.

But they're both pretty anyway!

There is also the very first version in my gallery, a James-Sev one. I liked that the meaning of the piece changes, depending on who is included in the frame. And yes, when Lily's was entirely in the pic, it was distracting because she was more in focus than Snape. Well, I supposed it could have been interesting as well, but I can't post hundreds of versions of the same thing after all.

This is actually really interesting. The meaning of the picture does change a lot over the course of the three versions. Nice.

However, I should add a brighter light on the lion in the middle of the pic now. No way Sirius's hand would remain on focus in the center like that. A pity my computer doesn't work well today

Yeah, I definitely am !! However I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm a Snape birthday virgin!!! one year ago I didn't have a clue who the hell Snape was (or very, very vaguely. I used to think Hagrid was Dumbledore for some reason, LOL). And I don't have that much time so it'll likely just be a sketch but a good one I hope. Time is running out!! What about you?

Yes, and Dumbledore and Minerva, too. They are missing.

I actually do imagine the pic being OK with Lily as whole as Severus, with a very fierce expression. Kind of : not amused at all with all the guys. It would be balanced indeed. However there are some required changes in the expressions, that's true, especially for Sev. They can both be upset at each other, though

What about his expression? Are you afraid it might look like he's casting a dark look at her rather than at the marauders?

James look so evil! But I think I like how you drew him best of all actually (the more I look at it the more I like it). Sirius does draw a lot of attention to himself, how in character [insert random repressed insult here]!! But I guess it's fairly inevitable given he's at the center of the picture (and in front of the window). Maybe getting the lion lighter will help, as you say. Whole Lily would be definitely nice too! Good luck with your computer!

I do prefer James, too. Especially in the very first version, the one with only the three of them (James/Peter/Sev), when he is in focus. Remus and Sirius are better if seen in a singular pic, when you can see their features in close-up.

Mmmk'kay. If I add the full Lily's face, I would tend to a more carefully miserable (rather than angry) Sev then ...

Unfortunately, I really can't work anymore on it for now - just the lion, then, maybe. The full Lily is for a further time (haha, it's really my most-extendable-pic , I'm afraid... I did paint her today but the result was not satisfiying. I had to crop her for a better balance of the whole scene.

I admire you for being able to work on something over such an extended period of time and not being tired of it! I generally become tired of my stuff before I finish it and I have to push myself to not stop and start something new without finishing... But the last touches can sometimes take the whole thing to a new level.

As for Sev's expression, I like this one a lot but the narrative is what matters most I suppose. Do you think he would pretend not to be too horrible in front of her?
