Description
With the launch of Spacecraft 2100 to 2200 AD [link] finally underway it's time to show a peek at some of the artwork Vulne Pro's team did on the RPG book that is to follow. My Studio partner Jeff Lilly wrote a good deal of the material in Spacecraft so even though none of the art we did is in there (all artwork by the talented 3D modeler Adrian Mann) you folks should check it out anyway, it's pretty cool. Here's another one of the "object" series of unknowns that were in the original Spacecraft book the new version is based on. This illo is based on the painting by Tony Roberts. I went with a different angle but still pretty much the same composition because many of the “objects” in the book were stationary to where they were discovered by whatever races found them so I had to keep the colors and the planets and moons in the same positions.

I just got the old Spacecraft book from the 70s and this Object is by far my favorite one. I love the new angle. It helps me because I plan on making a model of this object. Very nice job.

Good... this reminds me of a novel by my favorite writer... he writes in this bizarre, extremely complicated style, rich of unique ideas and new looks on everyday things... its sci-fi of cause... if you knew Russian, I would so recommend him. Inspiring stuff too...

Groovy. It's definitely got the classic sci-fi opera vibe going for it.

Thank you It's not my design, it was designed by Tony Roberts sometime in the late 70s-early 80s. It was first published in the original Spacecraft 2000 to 2100 AD. Morrigan Press, who I did the illustration for, secured the rights to republish the work with new artwok and renditions of the original paintings. If Blizzard had a ship like this they either were inspired by this or copied it.
