^^So, I missed "Mer-May", but still wanted to draw Mokuba as a mer-boy. It was too cute of an idea to pass-up. Yes, he's still wearing his brother's locket around his neck. ^^ He was originally meant to be swimming in the sea, but it looks more like he was captured and put in an aquarium. And now he's waving to passers-by until his brother comes to rescue him.
Only used a ref for the seahorses and the moorish idol (fish in the bg). I rather like how the seahorses came out; the moorish idol not so much. Then again, it's my first attempt at drawing one since seeing 'Finding Nemo' around 12 years ago...
Mokuba was pretty much in my own style, and based off what I remembered of him. All in all, am pleased with this pic. I have a few follow-up pics planned, including one with his big bro, and one with a few female characters as mermaids.

we have some old bootleg YGO cards and there is one for Kaiba named Seahorse and then Pegasus's card is named Sky Horse lol. and then we always wanted to make up a character just so we could call it Sky Horse because that sounds so awesome lol

actually his face does kinda have that sheepish "hehe, yeah, um, don't mind me! just, getting kidnapped again, heh... carry on! nothing to see here!"
I love imagining the backstory of how he ended up in someone's aquarium too
but I can also see this being some kind of KC attraction and he volunteered to be in it because the actual mermaid performer girls didn't come or something lol

That's true! I believe the Abridged series made a joke based on how many times Mokuba gets kidnapped. The poor kid's total is well over 2000 by now...

I could see that too - he would do that sort of thing for his big brother. It reminds me a little of that Penguins of Madagascar movie when Private had to dress as a mermaid penguin for his mission.

i used to only buy official stuff but there is a guy i like on youtube who "reviews" silly/bizarre knockoffs and it's a lot of fun lol
there's a joke we might put in but it might get cut to save time, where mokuba is like 'i'm to the point it surprises me when bad guys DON'T kidnap me' cuz like dartz didn't bother at all and it's actually kind of strange that he doesn't, that's how redundant the kidnappage got hahahah
