Description In-Universe Info:

As the Empire continued to fracture, ripped apart by the loss of it's first Emperor and the subsequent draining civil wars for the emergence of the next, the New Republic began to arise as a concrete politcal force in the galactic Northeast. Based in it's temporary capital of Desevro in the former Tion Hegemony, the new government began the process of integrating the Kingdom of Mon Cala and campaigning into the Corporate Sector in order to free the planets occupied under the brutal Corporatist rule there.

Over the course of this war various reforms prompted by the influx of Tionese and former-Imperial personnel were introduced, culminating in the reformation of the equipment and doctrine of the former allied bands of Alliance-Era troopers into a more formalized and regimented system (Though there were still many allied bands, as the fledgling New Republic recognized value in them, too.).

Most noteable of the additions to the armed forces was increased distribution of medium and heavy armors of Tionese and Imperial makes. The Bodyglove became near-ubiquitous, and it's widespread adoption saw death-rates plummet and would eventually lead to Imperial adoption of the same addition during their later Stormtrooper Corp reforms. The bodysuit dissapated energy across the surface, and had decent resistance to physical trauma, the average soldier could now reliably keep on fighting through a few Blaster shots directly to the covered areas.

Heavier suits of armor were also introduced for units in the more fortified theatres. Along with the bodysuits they were able to form an airtight seal, and provide additional protection, allowing soldiers to shrug off many direct hits from low and mediumk grade weaponry, though sustained or heavy fire would still get through efficiently, as well as explosives. Heavy suits were most often deployed to Marine units, as their small size and common fighting conditons during boarding actions meant that the expensive to produce suits were best suited for their operations.

Out-of-Universe Info:

This was a fun one to make. I like the idea of heavier Alliance soldiers and new-canon never really touched on them. Old EU stuff did in passing but never for very long, so why not put my skills to the test and make something for them?
