Description
I was recently asked to do some designs for book bags for the local College Bookstore. The mascot for the school is the Geoduck, pronounced (gooy-duck' ) which is a sort of huge burrowing clam. It is native to the Pacific coast of North America, is too big to fit in its shell, and is the longest lived known animal, with a life expectancy of 145 years. This has to be one of the all time weird mascots, but I did a few sketches. This one is a dorsal view with the siphon retracted the way they are when out of the water.Related content

I'm sure you're aware of this, but it so looks like something else, haha!
These were fun! Quite the unique mascot indeed!

All the feminists on campus hate the mascot, but they have never looked at the inside. That's why I included the drawing of the inner side of the shell. The geoduck is an amazingly rude looking clam, all the more so when you buy them at the fish markets, and the dealer squeezes them to remove the water from the siphon. It squirts all over the place, making all the tourists snicker.
