They say that if you are hopelessly lost, sometimes the best thing to do is stay right where you are and do nothing until the fog parts, your visibility returns, and you can see your way clearly again. That is the idea behind this piece depicting the concept of stasis as a guardian angel. It is she who puts the brakes on forward progress, but only when that's what is best and only temporarily. My way of illustrating this concept was to have her land on the surface of a little pond or brook and freeze it with her touch. Stock used in this piece comes from ~MirandaRose-Stock for the snowy background and the gorgeous *mizzd-stock for reference for the angel herself.Related content

What I like most is your captions of the masterpiece you've design. You give us the sense to really explore more into the detials and understand what you are making us see! This I appreciate the most! The piece it self is so stunning, even the white doesn't deflect off the focal point which is the guardian herself. Thank you! I normally use a lot of color, even on things like snow that are normally colorless, but I really wanted to keep this one white and still to give the sense of nothing moving at all.... no snow falling, no hair blowing.... and all of those are things I would normally do.
