Description
Full color version of a sketch I originally did [link]to sort of figure out the physical logistics of fitting Zuko and Katara into cramped quarters so that I could describe it accurately for the chapter 'Cliffhangers' in my Avatar: The Last Airbender story over on FanFiction.net [link]
Since this was initially only done as a personal aid to my writing, there is no scene text to accompany it, but i did eventually describe this image in the following chapter.
I went ahead and finished it because I just couldn't stand seeing a raw sketch in my gallery. Plus, i figured that those of my readers who ship 'Zutara' might get a kick out of seeing it colored.

This has got to be my number one favorite picture. I first saw it in AvidZktjo favorites page and had to follow the link to read the story. When I finally finished it... three days later... I was hooked it's the best avatar fan fiction I've ever read. Can't wait to read more chapters, it's as good as the show... maybe even better!

Thanks! That would be the OTHER reason i went ahead and colored this. Backgrounds (and especially rocks) are not my forte, so this seemed like an excellent opportunity practice. Sadly, I still wound up cheating on the two larger stones near Katara. Those were snagged off Clipart.com (everything else is mine).

I didn't use to, actually. But it's an outright necessity in my line of work (graphic design), since we'd loose a ton of money if i took the time to draw every piece of art for every client. It seems practically no one wants to pay for custom artwork these days. 
So clip art and stock photography are just something that i've grown accustomed to using when i want to get something done and can't afford to spend too much time on it.
Plus i really hate painting rocks...

You know, that's a good question for which i don't really have an answer. I guess i'm just never satisfied with how they turn out. I see other artists do them much more believably.
And yeah, graphic design is an interesting job. It's fun, and very challenging, but there isn't as much creative freedom as one might imagine, so it can be frustrating at times too. Still, there's almost nothing else i'd rather do for a living.

This is sweet. It's cool that you can illustrate your own stories with such skill, it's always neat to see the story as the author envisions it.
By the way, I liked the "Slipping Away" chapter. The insanity really suits Azula, and Mai is hilarious. And I don't remember which chapter Toph learns to swim, but I'm stubbornly trying to fit it into my mental summary of the canon Book 3.
